July 29, 2016 -- The Indianapolis Colts have announced that they have signed Portland Steel wide receiver Nick Truesdell to a training camp contract. The Colts officially list the 6'7" Truesdell at tight end.Truesdell played in five of the Steel's 15 games this season, and caught the team's first touchdown pass of the season., a 38-yard bomb from Danny Southwick. However, he was injured on the play and missed the next 10 games of the season before coming back to the Steel for the team's June 27 game against the Philadelphia Soul.He caught 15 passes for 200 yards (13.3) average and 8 touchdowns this season.Truesdell spent his first two seasons with the Spokane Shock and, with his height, is considered a red zone threat. Good for Nick! His height and his (mostly) reliable pass catching ability should allow him a decent shot at the NFL. If he doesn't make it here, maybe the CFL will give him a look.

I hope he can stay on with the Colts. It would be cool to have a Portland Steel/Spokane Shock guy catching passes from Andrew Luck!
