November 6, 2016 --
Over the past three-plus years, I've attempted to look for ways to grow this forum, get more activity and more participation within not only our game threads, but our news threads. I've also looked at enhancing what we do here with the limited resources that we have.
I'm proud of what we've done. I believe we've done a wonderful job at bringing information on our teams and games.
As you may have noticed, this weekend I have made some changes to the appearance of SCtoC and to our twitter account. There still be some other minor tweaks. Over the summer, I asked SurferGirl to take on more of the administrative portions of the forum. I appreciate her efforts to that end.
I am fully cognizant of the fact there are those who do not wish to register for this site due to the family friendly nature which has been laid out. It's unfortunate that there are those who are uncomfortable if they are not able to use certain language and innuendos. Mark my words: Even if our growth continues to be stunted by our strict family friendly guidelines, this site always will be a safe place where our members and readers can come and not worry about viewing questionable content.
A few months ago, I decided we needed something more. I've never run a forum before. We've all been learning as we go. We've been learning about journalism, about keeping up with the times and about how to present quality content for our members and readers. I've determined that what we need is a resource which can take us to the next level of coverage.
To that, I have reached an agreement with someone who can drift from board to board and add some items which of which we have not yet begun to take advantage. This person is a former journalist. In fact, he has worked as sports editor at two separate newspapers in the Northwest. If there is a sport, he has covered it.
I've asked him to add some features to this forum, such as interviews via Soundcloud, Spreaker and/or even Youtube. We also will be planning a weekly recorded update as to what has happened with the teams we cover. While we've not ironed out all the specifics, we will solidify our planning shortly.
I want to be clear: This is not a slight against the job anyone is doing here. What we not have is someone who can augment what each person is already doing. As he told me a few days ago, he sees himself as the guy comes into a game when you need a key rebound or defensive play ... after everyone else has already done the heavy lifting.
Our newest member will go by Bannock , and will be known as a consultant on and for SCtoC.
I believe this is an excellent addition to what we already have built here. If you have any questions, let me know.

In Kassandra's Words began on the Blazers Blogger Network and continues here on this site. Relocating this blog allows me to include Blazers blogs, but to also expand it to other sports and teams, as well as matters of the forum itself. I encourage comments. However, I request that comments be directed toward the topic presented..
