Eight months after seeing his rookie IFL season come to an unfortunate end, RB Trevor Kennedy has officially returned to the Spokane Empire.
Per Trevor's Twitter account, the 2016 IFL Offensive Rookie of the Year confirmed his return to SCtoC that he has re-signed with the Empire as the team begins training camp for the 2017 season.
Kennedy's signing comes a few days after sharing the news on his Instagram account, revealing he had been medically cleared to resume his football career without restrictions. Today, the Empire's official Facebook page confirmed Kennedy was officially "a full go" for training camp.

The 2017 season should be a triumphant return for Kennedy, looking to capitalize on his outstanding rookie season. In addition to last year's Offensive Rookie of the Year honor, he was named First Team ALL-IFL as one of the most dynamic play-makers on the field. In 13 games, Kennedy ranked second in the IFL with 720 rushing yards and a league leading 27 rushing touchdowns, the most in the IFL since Green Bay's LaRon Council rushed for 32 touchdowns in 2012. He kept opposing defenses on their heels in the passing game and on special teams, recording 35 catches for for 273 yards and 9 touchdowns while also returning 28 kicks for 525 yards and 1 touchdown.
