GAME NOTES
-
The Crush are looking for their first week of the season in this, their road opener. A win would be the first IFL victory for head coach Jose Jefferson. Sean Goldrich has completed 27 of his 52 passes on the season. He is a pocket passer who can scramble when the situation calls for it. Josh Ford rushed for 45 of his 55 yards in the opening game of the season, a 42-41 overtime loss to the Salt Lake Screaming Eagles. Kyle Kaiser is always a threat to make a big play. He is averaging 16.7 yards per catch and has a pair of touchdown catches this season. Defensive back Antonio Marshall, defensive lineman Phillip Lewis and kick returner Paris Cotton were named Players of the Week Honorable Mention. Player to Watch: Sean Goodrich (QB).It is a storied franchise in a new element. Like the Crush, the Rattlers are looking for their first win of the season. Former Portland Thunder quarterback Darron Thomas is under center. He has completed 34 of 64 passes and posts a three-to-one touchdown-to-interception ratio. He also leads the team in rushing with 14 carries for 84 yards and a score. Demarius Washington, who was the IFL's Offensive Player of the Year last season as a member of the Crush, is a big target for Thomas, having posted a 13.8 yards per reception mark and three touchdown grabs on the season. Linebacker Adam Sauder leads the team in tackles. The Rattlers boast the IFL's second-ranked defense, allowing just 215.5 yards per game. Player to Watch: Demarius Washington (WR).
