Welcome to SCtoC's Week 1 coverage of the 2017 College Football Season.
We will provide capsules of each team we cover. Our first week is highlighted by Sydney Cup 2017, which pits Stanford and Rice. Both teams have promise and are looking at reaching a bowl game, or beyond.
Every team's game that we cover here will be followed up with a final score and stat summary when it becomes available. This will serve as the preview and game thread for this week's games.
All times are pacific time and could be subject to change.
Portland St. Vikings at BYU Cougars
What: The Vikings head to Utah to face Brigham Young.

What: The Ducks begin the Willie Taggart era at home against the Thunderbirds.

Note(s): Willie Taggart's hiring earlier this year makes him the first hire outside the Oregon system since Rich Brooks, who took the helm of the Ducks in 1977. Three others had been hired in the interim.
