Hey, SCtoC is it me spiderfan here and today I'm going to be giving you fine people my NFL Regular season predictions. I figured this format would be a better way to give my predictions and would help get the conversation going, so without further ado here they are:
NFC South:
1.) Carolina Panthers
2.) New Orleans Saints
3.) Tampa Bay Bucs
4.) Atlanta Falcons
As you can see I have the Falcons going from first to worst and this is because I believe that the Falcons SB hangover will be bad. I could totally be wrong about this and they may comeback with a vengeance but at this point I doubt it. I think that Christian McCaffrey will give the Panthers the boost they need to be back to 2014-15 playoff form and will also help Cam Newton return to his MVP form.
NFC North:
1.) Green Bay Packers
2.) Detroit Lions
3.) Minnesota Vikings
4.) Chicago Bears
Aaron Rodgers will reign once again on top of the NFC North because of a bad Vikings O-line and key divisional wins against Detroit.
NFC West:
1.) Seattle Seahawks
2.) Arizona Cardinals
3.) Los Angeles Rams
4.) San Francisco 49ers
The Seahawks IMO will win the division easily and have their 6th straight playoff berth despite their mediocre offensive line because the rest of the division is bleh.
NFC East:
1.) Dallas Cowboys
2.) NY Giants
3.) Philadelphia Eagles
4.) Washington Redskins
The Cowboys even without Zeke are bound to be contenders yet again in what should be a good division this year. The Giants defense will help them make a run at the division title but will ultimately fall short IMO.
AFC South:
1.) Tennessee Titans
2.) Houston Texans
3.) Jacksonville Jaguars
4.) Indianapolis Colts
In what may be the most clear cut division in the NFL the Titans win it this year like they should have last year. The Texans as I predicted earlier this year will undergo a coaching change mid-season and rebound to have a shot at the playoffs with Deshaun Watson at QB. The Jaguars will stink again with Bortles and may end up having Chad Henne start by years end. Andrew Luck has no timetable to return which means the Colts will be bad to start the year and then keep him out once the season is viewed as unsalvageable, Jim Harbaugh will probably start entering contract negotiations at that point.
AFC North:
1.) Pittsburgh Steelers
2.) Baltimore Ravens
3.) Cincinnati Bengals
4.) Cleveland Browns
Big Ben has talked retirement multiple times during the offseason and I expect this season to be his last in the NFL. Luckily for Steelers fans everywhere I think his last game(s) will be played in January during the postseason. I would view the Ravens more favorably but Flacco's back issues don't sound good.
AFC West:
1.) Las Vegas... I mean Oakland Raiders
2.) Kansas City Chiefs
3.) Los Angeles Chargers
4.) Denver Broncos
The Raiders probably should have been in the SB last year if not for Derek Carr's leg injury and this year I think they will (barring any unforseen injury). The Chiefs will be good once again and the Broncos will go from a SB hangover to a playoff drought.
AFC East:
1.) New England Patriots
2.) Miami Dolphins
3.) Buffalo Bills
4.) NY Jets
The Patriots will not go 16-0. I'm sick of hearing that. What is more likely is that the Jets go 0-16 (sorry Jets fans).
Now I would make postseason predictions but I will wait until then to make those. I do think ultimately that the playoffs will lead to a Las Vegas... I mean Oakland Raiders - Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl in Minneapolis. Thanks for reading and I look forward to discussing the season with all you wonderful people! This is spiderfan out.
