The Bloomington Edge recent return to the Indoor Football League has proven that you can return to your originial home.
The Edge were prior members of the league leaving for better opportunities elsewhere. They recently competed in the Champions Indoor Football League, that is considered by many to be a step below the Indoor Football League. Their return was likely made due to the Champions Indoor Football taking on new members from the IFL (Sioux Falls Storm and Wichita Falls Nighthawks) and expansion newcomer Quad City.
The move will put them in a solid geographically position with league teams in Nebraska, Iowa, Cedar Rapids, Green Bay, and fellow newcomer West Michigan. This should reduce the teams' travel costs.
Arizona, the 2017 league champion, will be the only team that may cause travel difficulties. However the competitiveness of that team figures too offset many problems that might occur.
Management of the Edge have stated in various interview reports that they are happy with the move, calling it the best direction the team could take at this time. If the league adds more teams and continues to build interests, the team's return will be a happy one for all involved parties.

The additions of Bloomington and West Michigan are a boost for the IFL. It would be great to see the announcement of at least one other team. Ideally having an even number of teams would make the league the strongest.

Are the Monterrey rumors true? Mexico? Yes. The Monterrey Steel play in the NAL, but they've been rumored to the IFL...mainly proximity wise because of the Rattlers. I haven't heard anything concrete about this.
