Welcome to SCtoC's Week 13 coverage of the 2017 College Football Season.
Every game of a team which we cover here will be followed up with a final score and stat summary when it becomes available. This will serve as the preview and game thread for the entire week's games.
We've also provided links to the official twitter accounts of each team in each match up. Often those accounts will have additional updates leading up to, during and after the games.
All times are pacific time. Times and broadcast information could be subject to change.
California Golden Bears at UCLA Bruins
What: The Bears head to the Rose Bowl an Pac-12 inter-division battle.
When: Friday, November 24 at 7:30 p.m.
Where: The Rose Bowl; Pasadena, California.
Television: Fox Sports 1.
Radio: KGO 810.
2017 Records: Bears 5-6 (2-6 Pac-12 North). Bruins 5-6 (3-5 Pac-12 South).
2016 Records: Bears 5-7 (3-6 Pac-12 North). Bruins 5-8 (2-7 Pac-12 South).
Previous: Bears lost to Stanford 17-14. Bruins lost to USC 28-23.
Head Coaches (overall records): Bears - Justin Wilcox (5-6). Bruins - Jedd Fisch (0-0).
Note(s): It's simple for Cal; win and it earns a trip to a bowl game. Despite being under .500, Justin Wilcox's inaugural season as a college football head coach has to be considered a success, regardless of the outcome of this game. Many projected Cal to win maybe a game or two. Taking Arizona to overtime last month, then holding serve with rival Stanford last week serves notice that this team will be a threat for the next few seasons to come. Patrick Laird rushed 20 times for 153 yards and a score in the Bears' loss to Stanford in the The Big Game on Nov. 18. UCLA comes in with an identical overall record, but the Bruins are in flux after having fired their head coach, Jim Mora. Offensive Coordinator Jedd Fisch is the interim coach for this game, and any bowl game should the Bruins win this one. If Mora had remained through the end of the season, he would have completed six seasons at the helm of the Bruins. UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen passed for 421 yards with three touchdowns and an interception in the Bruins' loss to USC on Nov. 18.

Boise St. Broncos at Fresno St. Bulldogs
What: The Bulldogs host the Broncos in a vital Mountain West match up.
When: Saturday, November 25 at 12:30 p.m.
Where: Jim Sweeney Field at Bulldog Stadium; Fresno, California.
Television: CBS Sports Network.
Radio: KBOI.
2017 Records: Bulldogs 8-3 (6-1 Mountain West). Broncos 9-2 (7-0 Mountain West).
2016 Records: Bulldogs 1-11 (1-8 Mountain West). Broncos 10-3 (6-2 Mountain West).
Previous: Bulldogs def Wyoming 13-7. Broncos def. Colorado St. 59-52 in OT.
Head Coaches (overall records): Broncos - Bryan Harsin (38-11). Bulldogs - Jeff Tedford (90-60).
Note(s): These two teams will play twice in two weeks. This regular season finale will determine the location of the Mountain West Championship game, which will pit the Mountain Division champion Broncos and the West Division champion Bulldogs against each other. Boise St. is a game ahead of Fresno St. heading into this game and would host the conference title game with a won. With a win, Fresno St. would host due to having a tiebreaker over Boise St. The Broncos have won seven straight and will look to finish the season undefeated in conference play. Boise St. wide receiver Cedrick Wilson has topped the thousand-yard receiving mark with 1,008 yards on 58 catches with 6 touchdowns. Fresno St. comes in having won seven of its last eight. Head coach Jeff Tedford is in his first year at the helm of the Bulldogs. He previously was head coach at California, where he led the Golden Bears to a 5-3 bowl record in his 11 seasons there. Fresno St. quarterback Marcus McMaryion, who began his college career for two years at Oregon St., leads the Bulldogs in passing, completing 62.7 percent of his passes for 1,880 yards with 12 touchdowns and 3 interceptions.

Oregon St. Beavers at Oregon Ducks
What: It's Civil War time as the Beavers visit the Ducks.
When: Saturday, November 25 at 4 p.m.
Where: Autzen Stadium; Eugene, Oregon.
Television: ESPN2.
Radio: 750 The Game.
2017 Records: Beavers 1-10 (0-8 Pac-12 North). Ducks 6-5 (3-5 Pac-12 North).
2016 Records: Beavers 4-8 (3-6 Pac-12 North). Ducks 4-8 (2-7 Pac-12 North).
Previous: Beavers lost to Arizona St. 40-24. Ducks def. Arizona 48-28.
Head Coaches (overall records): Beavers - Cory Hall (0-4). Ducks - Willie Taggart (61-74).
Note(s): Oregon St.'s season has been a disappointing one. After making progress in 2016 in Gary Anderson's second year as its head coach, the Beavers went 1-6 to start 2017. Anderson then unexpectedly resigned and Cory Hall took over. The team has still struggled, but has been more competitive under the enigmatic Hall, prompting several players to endorse him as the permanent head coach going forward. Beavers running back Ryan Nall has rushed 151 times for 769 yards with 8 touchdowns this season. The Ducks seem back on track after getting back quarterback Justin Herbert from a collarbone injury. The Ducks' 20-point win over Arizona featured an offensive combination of Herbert and running back Royce Freeman, something on which the Ducks will rely in this game, and in their upcoming bowl game. This will be the 121st Civil War between the teams. Oregon leads the series 63-47-10. The Beavers, then known as Oregon Agricultural College, won the first meeting, 16-0. Oregon St. won last year's meeting, 34-24. In an off-field incident in the rivalry, in 1960 an Oregon student abducted the Oregon St. homecoming queen from the front of her home in Corvallis. She was returned unharmed thirty minutes later, but before that the OSU student body president received a ransom note demanding he ride a child's scooter to the center of Eugene and make a public appeal for her return. This will be the first Civil War game for Cory Hall and Willie Taggart as head coaches of these teams.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish at Stanford Cardinal
What: The rivalry between Notre Dame and Stanford continues as the Fighting Irish visit the Cardinal.
When: Saturday, November 25 at 5 p.m.
Where: Stanford Stadium; Stanford, California.
Television: ABC.
Stanford Radio: Cardinal Sports Network.
2017 Records: Irish 9-2 (independent). Cardinal 8-3 (7-2 Pac-12 North).
2016 Records: Irish 4-8 (independent). Cardinal 10-3 (6-3 Pac-12 North).
Previous: Irish def. Navy 24-17. Cardinal def. California 17-14.
Head Coaches (overall records): Irish - Brian Kelly (239-89-2). David Shaw (71-20).
Note(s): Notre Dame possesses the best record of the four independent universities, and has been in the conversation this season when it comes to the FBS Playoff. Their two wins create a problem there, however. Head coach Brian Kelly is in his 26th season as a college football head coach, and his eighth in that position at Notre Dame. The Irish are sixth in the FBS with 290.5 rushing yards per game. Running back Josh Adams leads the rushing attack with 1,337 yards on 171 carries with 9 touchdowns. Quarterback Brandon Wimbush leads the team in rushing touchdowns, and has 704 rushing yards on 120 carries. Stanford running back Bryce love is second in the FBS with 1,723 rushing yards, second only to San Diego St.'s Rashaad Penny's 1.824. Love has missed one game due to an ankle injury, and parts of two other games when he aggravated it. It is unsure if the junior running back will see action in this one, as he left after one such aggravation in Stanford's win over Cal on Nov. 18. The Cardinal may elect to hold him out should they have an opportunity to play the following week in the Pac-12 Championship Game. The Cardinal are in a precarious position. If Washington should defeat Washington St. in the Apple cup on Nov. 25, Stanford will play USC in the Pac-12 Championship Game (USC has already clinched the Pac-12 South). If Washington St. should win the Apple Cup, they would play USC for the Pac-12 Championship. The Apple Cup starts at 5 p.m., the exact same time at this game between the Irish and the Cardinal. With the Big Game win over Cal, Stanford head coach David Shaw surpassed Pop Warner with the most wins as head coach of the Cardinal.
