2/6/18 --
The following is the revised 2018 schedule for the Cedar Rapids Titans, released today.
Cedar Rapids is entering its seventh season in the IFL. The Titans made the playoffs four times, in four consecutive seasons from 2013 to 2016. They struggled last season winning just once, defeating the Blizzard in Green Bay, 41-37. They were the only team to not win a home game over the course of the season. They opened the 2017 with six straight losses, and lost their last 10.
The Titans are coached by Marvin Jones and play their home games at the U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids. They were formerly a member of the United Conference (The conferences have been eliminated this season).
The Titans open their 2018 campaign on Feb. 23 with a trip to Nebraska to face the Danger. Following that, they play three of their next four at home before heading out on the road for four straight. The Titans finish our their 2018 season with a June 9 visit to face the Green Bay Blizzard and a June 16 trip to face in-state rival the Iowa Barnstormers.
Cedar Rapids will play six home games and nine away games in 2018. The Titans, along with the Green Bay Blizzard, each have just two bye weeks this season. The remaining four IFL teams have three byes. Cedar Rapids' byes come in weeks 3 and 7.
The Indoor Football League released its schedule on November 14, which included eight teams. The revised schedule is the result of an Iowa county court's decision to ban the Bloomington Edge and the West Michigan Ironmen from playing in the IFL (nor any other league) for the 2018 season. Both teams will be eligible to officially join the IFL for the 2019 season. The IFL is entering its 10th season of existence..
All Titans games will be broadcast locally on the radio and will be available for streaming through those stations. SCtoC will provide links in its previews in previews of the games. All IFL games are available to be streamed on video via the IFL's YouTube channel.
