It's over. Stanford's defense failed on the last play.

Stanford's bowl game won't be for about four weeks. By then, Bryce Love should be nearly at full speed. I look for a win, whomever we play.

Stanford played hard. That second challenge should have been won. Tough one for our Stanford alums.

Sorry Kasey and Julie. I thought your guys had this one. They played a hard game and Bryce Love showed the most guts I've ever seen an athlete play with.

Well, this is not the result we were hoping for. I really thought we had a shot and for the most part, we played well. Lots of penalties in the game, which is very un-Stanford-like. What can I say about Bryce Love other to say what David Shaw said last week: He has to be the toughest kid in the country. He showed that tonight. Like last week against Notre Dame, Bryce got better on one ankle in the second half than most players do in entire games on two ankles. I am thankful he has probably about four weeks until the bowl game to heal. I feel in my heart that Love will make a statement in that bowl game. Congratulations to the Pac-12 champion USC Trojans. They have had a great season and are headed for a New Year's 6 bowl for sure (Stanford isn't out of contention for one of those either, but it's probably a longshot). They have some good playmakers and will represent the conference well in the bowl game in which they play. We're not done this week. We've got the Mountain West Championship game tomorrow at 4:45 (pacific) between the Boise St. Broncos and the Fresno St. Bulldogs from Boise. The game thread is up. Caveat: Vote in the poll! Here is the link to that thread: Fresno St. Bulldogs at Boise St. BroncosComing up will be preview capsules of bowl games from Stanford, Boise St. and Oregon. Those will be announced as early as Sunday. I will create a complete rundown of all the college bowl games shortly after they are announced. Thanks to everyone for coming tonight. We had a lively thread and I greatly appreciate it. See you all tomorrow night!

Here is an update on potential major/semimajor bowl games for the Pac-12:
Sun Bowl; Dec, 29; El Paso, Texas Holiday Bowl; Dec. 28; San Diego, California Alamo Bowl; Dec. 28; San Antonio, Texas Cactus Bowl; Dec. 26; Phoenix, Arizona Las Vegas Bowl; Dec. 16; Las Vegas, Nevada
That's only five bowl games which are designated to be filled by Pac-12 teams. Nine teams from the conference are bowl-eligible. That could turn to 10 if 5-7 Cal gets to a game. The past couple of seasons, there have been two or three teams at 5-7 who've played in a bowl. If that's the case this season, I would think Cal would be in the mix, but that's just speculation on my part.

Sorry Kasey and Julie. I thought your guys had this one. They played a hard game and Bryce Love showed the most guts I've ever seen an athlete play with. Bryce has gutted it out the past several weeks on pure determination. He is the toughest guy in college football.

As it is a tradition to watch in my house, let me know if you would like a game thread for the Army-Navy game on December 9 at 9 a.m. (PT). It could be fun.

Sorry to hear about Stanford's loss. You guys were right with what you said about them giving up big plays. That hurt them three times last night.
I think it would be cool to have a thread for the Army-Navy game. Count me in.
