Hey everybody it is me, spiderfan here! It is time once again for me to give you my random thoughts and stuff on Week 13 of the National Football League season. Let us begin!
The New York Football Tinys have shrunk to an unbelievably small size
This week's top story was the benching of Eli Manning. This caused a firestorm not seen since Greg Schiano got kicked of off Rocky Top. Not only was Eli Manning benched for Geno Smith, but his consecutive start streak of 210 games was broken. Now days later and after losing in The Black Hole, Tinys HC Ben McAdon't and GM Jerry Reese have been fired. Eli Manning is poised to return against the Cowboys and Steve Spagnuolo is now the interim HC.
IMO the Tinys should have fired McAdon't and Reese at midseaon, traded Eli Manning, and started Davis Webb for 8 games. However they decided to shrink and shrink and shrink and shrink and are now the size of ants. They would lose to the Browns, in my estimation.
Teams still in playoff contention
The Raiders, Chargers, Jets, Dolphins, Bengals, and even Bills are all still in the AFC playoff hunt. You'll hear a bunch about the Chargers making the playoffs, but I'll take the Raiders despite their ugly win against the Tinys. Regardless the parity in the AFC is real. Not so much in the NFC though.
THE LOLCOW REPORT
I have come up with a new segment, The Lolcow Report to update you on the Denver Lolcows, or Broncos as they used to be called.
Yet another week and another loss, this time against the Dolphins of Miami led by former Bronco Jay Cutler, who went up and down the field on a defense that has always been overrated. Kenyan Drake also ran for 100+ yards and played better than former Dolphin Jay Ajayi (we'll get to that later).
There are now calls for Vance Joesph to be fired, but I don't blame him. He is merely a puppet of Mr. Lolcow himself John Elway who has turned the team from the Broncos to the Lolcows. Peyton Manning helped lead them to all kinds of wins and stability, something which they don't have right now. The Broncos drafting another QB has been thrown out there as well, which if it happens will totally show that drafting Paxton Lynch was a terrible decision. The Lolcows would also lose to the Browns IMO.
You play to win the game
In honor of Herm Edwards being named the Head Coach of Arizona State, I figured I would bring up Edwards' famous "You play to win the game" rant. The Jets this season are playing to win and have played competitively for the vast majority of the season. Meanwhile, the other team in New York isn't winning and has been accused of quitting. You play to win the game folks.
Other thoughts:
-How bout the Cowboys?! #Finishthefight
-I told you that the Vikings were the best team in the NFC and I was correct.
-Poor Tyrod.
-Both Doug Marrone and Tom Coughlin deserve award consideration for what they have done with the Jaguars.
-For some reason the Panthers can't beat the Saints, even though they are one of the best teams in the NFC. #confused
-Congrats to Jimmy G on his first win as a 49er!
-Congrats to Josh Gordon on his return! Stay sober my friend.
-Tom Savage and Bill O'Brien still suck. #Embracethetank
THE ROAD TO 0-16
Team that currently doesn't have a win. I will do this segment until every team has a win.
Team that currently doesn't have a win:
Cleveland Browns
I still think the Browns will not go 0-16. I have said this since the beginning of the year and I stick by it.
With that said Week 13 is in the books. See ya next week! This is spiderfan out.
