ANALYSIS
In this rematch of the season opener between these teams, the Danger are looking for their first win since that meeting while the Bucks are still searching for their first win of the season. In that 66-44 win, the Danger outscored the Bucks 32-12 in the middle quarters and the Bucks were never able to recover. Bucks QB John Gibbs threw for two touchdowns and ran for four in Bismarck's effort. Nebraska was led by the four touchdown passes from Tommy Armstrong, while Davonte Sapp-Lynch rushed for 94 yards and three touchdowns. In a key stat which often means little in indoor football, the Bucks led in time of possession, 37:57 to 22:03. The Danger have had a couple close losses, by one point to the Green Bay Blizzard, and by three points last week to the Iowa Barnstormers. The Bucks have struggled to put together a complete game, but they are hungry to get into the win column. A little revenge against the Danger could just be the ticket.
The Danger offense is led by former Nebraska Cornhuskers QB Armstrong. He has a strong arm and is more than capable of making plays with his legs. He comes in completing 62.1 percent of his passes with nine touchdowns and two interceptions. He is fifth in the IFL with 49.3 rushing yards per game and fourth with eight touchdowns on the ground (second in both categories among QB's, respectively). Davonte Sapp-Lynch has been strong all season as he ranks third in rushing yards per game with 54.8 and is tied for first with 10 rushing touchdowns. He also has 10 receptions for 75 yards. The Bucks should expect a heavy dose of Marshawn Lynch's kid brother in this one. Eric Thomas enters the game with 11 catces for 106 yards and three scores, and Gregory Dent, Jr. has nine receptions for 109 yards and three touchdowns. Najee Bright and Lavarious Varnado lead the team with 21 tackles apiece. Bright also has a fumble recovery and Varnado has an interception. Jason Baxter also has a pick. La;More Wise and Seyvon Lowry each have recovered a fumble, and Chris Martin leads the team in sacks with 1.5. Recently signed Jeremy Reynolds out of Arizona Western College will be the third kicker to appear this season for Nebraska.
Both QB's on the Bucks' roster have shown some good things this season, but they've also struggles at times. Gibbs comes into this one completing 48 percent of his throws for 306 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions. Homer Causey stands at 51.7 percent for 166 yards with four touchdowns and a pick. Causey has had a tad more success rushing, but either can be effective on the ground. The two quarterbacks around for six touchdowns and all but 19 rushing yards on the season. Either could get the starting nod, but it's very possible both could see action. The Former Sioux Falls Storm receiver Mike Tatum has been a bright spot, hauling in an IFL fourth best 74.0 passing yards along with three scores. He also has rushed for a touchdown. Fellow former Storm WR Brandynn Clark is athletic and could also fit into the mix. The defense is led by the 19 tackles of Joseph Blount, Jr., who has tallied that in just two of the team's three games. Antwan Smith has 15 tackles and the Bucks' only interception of the season. Stephon Hall has recovered a fumble. Bismarck is the only team to have not recorded a sack on the season. Blake Levin is six of eight on extra point attempts and one of four on field goals; that being of 27 yards.
