The first round is done, but we at SCtoC are not. We'll be back for the second and third rounds tomorrow! Special thanks to our NFL Analyst, spiderfan for his pick-by-pick analysis! See you in the morning for round 2!

That's a whole lot of defensive linemen taken in the first round. I sense a definite theme from day 1.

Second round coming up. The Arizona Cardinals are on the clock. Hey Julie considering there are 3 different networks covering the draft, which one are you watching? Personally, I'm watching NFL Network.

I won't be doing pick by pick analysis tonight, although I will share my thoughts on what I think are the notable picks.
Pick No. 33 Arizona Cardinals Byron Murphy CB, Washington
Quick thoughts: I wonder if this means that Patrick Peterson will end up being traded because Murphy is one of this draft's top corners and Peterson has wanted out of AZ in the past.

Pick No. 35 Sacksonville Jaguars Jawaan Taylor T, Florida
Quick thoughts: Considering that there was considerable talk that the Jags would take Taylor with the 7th overall pick, the fact that the Jags got him at number 35 is nothing short of astounding luck. There are still 5 more rounds to go, but so far the Jags are winning the draft.

Pick No. 36 San Francisco 49ers Deebo Samuel WR, South Carolina
Quick thoughts: Samuel was one of the best players in the SEC when he was at South Carolina, so Jimmy G will have a great weapon this coming season.

The Broncos are on the clock at 41. I've gotta think they'll take Drew Lock here because word was before the draft that Elway was very high on him.

So just as Jessica mentioned about defensive linemen being taken yesterday, looks like there is a bit of a run on offensive linemen early tonight.

No. 42 pick Denver Broncos Drew Lock QB, Mizzou
Quick thoughts: There had been talk that Lock was going to be a 1st round pick by the Broncos, so the Broncos have to be thrilled that Lock fell this far. The thing about Lock is that his Senior year wasn't all that great which was a disappointment because his Junior year was spectacular. His upside is there, but I've got a feeling that Lock will end up more or less like the other QBs that Elway has picked before.

On a side note, Angi is in the game thread for tonight's IFL game between Cedar Rapids and Nebraska. Danger lead 7-0 early.

No. 46 pick Cleveland Browns Greedy Williams CB, LSU
Quick thoughts: Another player that I watched regularly while he was in college, Williams is a stud CB who I think will make the Browns a better team. I've got to tip my hat to Browns GM John Dorsey for assembling what on paper is a highly talented roster.

The Dolphins traded their second round pick to the Saints. There was talk earlier today that the Dolphins were in deep talks to get Josh Rosen from the Cardinals, but I guess that is dead now.

I spoke too soon. Now there is word that Rosen could be traded from the Cardinals in exchange for the Dolphins number 62 pick. We'll see what happens.

Pick #57: J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, WR, Stanford.
My quick thoughts: I watched him play over his entire career at Stanford. He's improved every year and is highly athletic with terrific hands. Extremely intelligent player. Probably a little later than I expected him to go. He'll do very well playing along side a fellow Cardinal alum, Zach Ertz.
