The Sioux Falls Storm was recently sold to a local Sioux Falls South Dakota family that maintained a season ticket relationship with the team. The group of three women and their husbands obtained valuable knowledge of the team during their venture as fans of the team but now that must take that knowledge to the next level and show the indoor football community that they can be good owners. The concept of fans becoming owners has been tried in other sports leagues all over the country, it has about a 50-50 chance of working out. The level of dedication that is brought to the team by the new owners is perhaps the single most important factor in indicating whether or not the relationship will be successful. The new owners will face pressure that they must overcome however it will be easier for them simply because they have a championchip0 team and the fan base for a championchip team usually carries the team at least through the following season unless turmoil strikes the team during its offseason or pehaps early in the season. The teams former owner Todd TRON moved on too become the leagues new commissionor, a job that he can advance the intersts of the league instead of just one team. Did he make the right move in selling? This will unfold over the coming months, it did create a significant opportunity for these individuals too enhance their overall positions in the community in a positive manner.
