Cześć SCtoC, Spiderfan here! It is time once again for me talk about the NFL, so enjoy this Week 7 version of Web of Football. Let us begin!
Patrick Mahomes AKA The Greatest of Right Now goes down
I've been a fan of Patrick Mahomes since before the draft and seeing him having a knee injury gave me (and every fan of the Chiefs and most football fans in general) distress. Luckily, it turns out the injury that Mahomes got was not a season ending injury (i.e torn ACL) and instead a knee dislocation (That happened to me, it wasn't fun) which only will keep him out 3-6 weeks. Considering, the Chiefs make sure Mahomes gets the best possible care, I imagine that Mahomes will be back sooner rather than later.
In his stead, Matt Moore will be the QB for the Chiefs. Which makes me ask the question: Why don't the Chiefs have a better backup than Matt Moore? Then I realize it is because the main backup Chad Henne was injured in the preseason. Which makes ask another question: Why don't the Chiefs have a better backup than Chad Henne? Something that ya might want to address in the off season, Chiefs.

"We’re going down to Dallas, our guys are gonna be ready to play. And we’re gonna win that football game and when we do we’re in first place in the NFC East, we control our own destiny, we’re right where we need to be." - Eagles HC Doug Pederson on 94WIP Radio in Philadelphia.
May I introduce everyone to the new fight song of the Eagles?
There have been a lot of awkward football games and awkward moments in football games to make a Curb Your Meme out of Sunday Night Football, biggest game of the season for both teams. Classic Rivalry game going all way the back to the JFK administration. The 2019 NFC Champ Eagles according to all sorts of other pundits (Note: I did not think that the Eagles were going to win the NFC, and by all accounts I am awesome for not picking them) FLOPPED BIG TIME.
When you decide that you want the ball first to really show how you are gonna give it to your opponent and make them take you seriously, and then almost immediately literally give the ball to your opponent and make them not take you seriously, you are in a BAD spot. No, let me rephrase that: REALLY BAD SPOT. That first fumble by the Eagles set the tone for the game. Turnovers, poor defensive play, poor offensive play, and poor game preparedness ultimately lead to a humiliating loss.
The Eagles were clearly not ready to play that game and because of that, they are now not in control of their own destiny, they are in a REALLY BAD SPOT, and they are not anywhere near where they want (or need) to be. Oh, and because those cheese steak eating morons decided to give Carson Wentz a morbidly obese contract, they now don't have Nick Foles to bail them out and dig them out of this hole when Carson Wentz inevitably gets injured.
The best QB of the 2018 NFL Draft is...
Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens. Now, Baker will have opportunities to improve and I don't see the Browns being downtrodden for much longer. Josh Allen is leading the Bills to wins and is solid. Josh Rosen is a bust and will end up playing for the LA Wildcats in the XFL. As for Sam Darnold? He has turned out to be exactly who I thought he would be as a pro: A more well liked version of Jay Cutler.
Lamar has not only turned the Ravens around (remember, Ravens HC John Harbaugh was actively on the hot seat to the point where there was talk of him being fired mid season last year) from a below average lame squad to a playoff team, but now the Ravens are legit Super Bowl contenders. Their run game is elite and seemingly unstoppable at points and with Lamar being a true duel threat QB, not only he is rushing well, but the dude can get the ball to great targets like Hollywood Brown and Hayden Hurst. Because of that, defenses don't know what to prepare for, and that is the best possible situation you can have as an offense, something which none of Lamar's draft peers give their teams.
The Ravens right now look to win the AFC North by a wide margin, and are likely to get a first round bye come playoff time. Maybe it is just me, but I don't think that would be happening if Lamar wasn't at QB for the Ravens.
Do not be fooled
You are hearing about Kirk Cousins' great play and about how he has got his act together and how the Vikings are good and blah blah blah. This will not be sustained. Because at some point and some time, Kirk Cousins and the Vikings will have bright lights put on them and they will melt like butter. You heard it here first.
Zone Coverage
-The Redskins aren't gonna win the NFC East like I thought they were going to. Bad pick by me.
-Props to the Cardinals for going into a bad weather environment (which put them at a disadvantage) and still beating the New York Football Giants.
-Bill O'Brien got outcoached by Colts DC Matt Eberflus, just like in the playoffs. Man, O'Brien sucks.
-Maybe Mike McCarthy was the problem in Green Bay.
-Shoutout to Leonard Fournette for being the best player on the Jags offense.
-Dan Quinn is going to get fired. I predict at the end of the season because the Falcons management wants to tank and firing Quinn midseason would hurt that cause.
-The Chargers got robbed. Seriously, blow a stinkin' whistle to stop forward progress refs.
-I think it is safe to say the Ravens trade for Marcus Peters has worked out so far.
-I think it is safe to say the Rams trade for Jalen Ramsey has worked out so far.
ROAD TO 0-16
This is the segment I do, celebrating the very worst the NFL has to offer. After week 7 the 0-for teams are:
Miami Dolphins
Cincinnati Bengals
The Dolphins and Bengals both put up a decent fight against their respective opponents this week. However, they both collapsed in the second half and ultimately lost. Even so, the Dolphins have an easier schedule than the Bengals and because of that I think the team that is most likely to go 0-16 is still the Bengals. Also, as a side note I'm actually excited to see Fitzpatrick play in primetime against the Steelers next week.
ROAD TO 16-0
This is the segment I do, celebrating the very best the NFL has to offer. After week 7 the undefeated teams are:
New England Patriots
San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers game against the Redskins is arguably much closer than it should have been. I'll give the 49ers a break because of the terrible conditions that game was played in. The Patriots game against the Jets was a complete demolishing and the Patriots are looking mighty good. I think this next game against the Ravens is going to show if the Patriots will walk to another SB or not. I don't feel confident in either team going 0-16, but right now I'll stick with the Patriots as my team most likely to go undefeated.
That is all for this week's Web of Football. As always, I hope ya enjoyed and I hope to see ya yet again next week. Go Astros! This is spiderfan out.
