Overview
The following is the 2020 schedule for Quad City Steamwheelers.
Quad City finished its first Indoor Football League season at 6-8 and missed the playoffs by just a single game. If not for a regular season finale loss to the Tuscon Sugar Skulls, the Steamwheelers would have made it to the postseason. They'll strive to do just that with a talented offense and a season of IFL experience under their belt. Eight of the league's 13 teams will earn trips to the playoffs, and with Cory Ross returning as head coach, the Steamwheelers will aim to be one of them.
The Steamwheelers are in action opening weekend as they make the short trip to Cedar Rapids to line up against the River Kings. After a bye, they host the Arizona Rattlers in their home opener in Week 3. Three out of their four games in April are at home and three of their May games are on the road. The Steamwheelers play two straight home games once and two straight on the road once this season. They close out the regular season in Week 16 when they host the River Kings. The Oakland Panthers, San Diego Strike Force and the Sugar Skulls are the only teams which the Steamwheelers do not face during the 2020 regular season.
Each IFL team plays 14 games (seven home and seven away), and has three bye weeks. The Steamwheelers have byes in weeks 2, 11 and 17. They play their home games at Taxslayer Center. Ross is entering his third season as the head coach for the Steamwheelers, dating back to their days in Champions Indoor Football.
All Steamwheelers games will be broadcast locally on the radio and will be available for streaming through those stations. SCtoC will provide links in its previews of the games, as well as recaps of each IFL game. Broadcast information for each game is forthcoming and will be updated on this page when available.
Below is the Steamwheelers 2020 schedule. Home games are noted in bold blue. Times and dates are subject to change. All times are pacific. Click on the final score for the boxscore and Recap for SCtoC's original recap of this game.
