The NewJersey Flight of the National Arena League has had its share of hard times. The franchise played in the American Arena League, last season struggling too find fans and players. The team gave a good account of itself losing out to eventual champion West Virginia in the playoffs. The franchise faced many front office problems as well resulting in the arrest of the teams former owners to arena difficulties. The new season brings fresh faces to the team from coaches to owners to players the Flight is preparing for its maiden voyage into the National Arena League landscape. The team will be lead by Terry Foster a bright energetic coach who played in various indoor leagues and knows the ins and outs of the league.
Foster has formed many opinions about the sport and recently offered detailed analysis about his team and how it matches up with the NAL elite. Foster feels his team is going too be quite competive and offer a major challenge to the league heavyweights. He has first hand knowledge of Carolina, Jacksonville, Massachusetts, and Columbus and feels his team can out maneuver them and be competive. Foster offered some insight into the league stating that he would like to see the league grow first before major changes i.e. television are discussed. He is quite concerned that there may be too many leagues and would like to see the eventual creation of one strong league that would eventually put the sport on the national map. He was saddened to see the Arena Football League fold but feels the demise of the league will strengthen the other teams in the sport and make it more competive. He is an intense individual who does a lot of preparation and study on the game and hopes that will translate to the field. Foster did mention that he would like to see the Arena Football teams come into the league, because they would offer additional competive scources for the current teams and make the league better as a whole.
