ANGI'S TAKES
Storm: Tampa Bay put up a lot of yards in their loss to the Gladiators and will be looking to do the same against the Thunder. Boltus was solid in the losing effort, but was sacked 4 times. Toliver, nicknamed "T.T.," accounted for nearly half of the team's receiving yards, while Williams had 121 yards on 11 catches and 2 touchdowns. Hill and Addison each had 5 solo tackles against the Gladiators. In addition to an interception by Boltus, the Storm fumbled 5 times in the loss, losing three of them.
Thunder: Portland picked up the win over the rival KISS in week one as part of their season opening three-game homestand. Rowley was serviceable, adding a rushing touchdown in addition to his five passing scores. Howard put up nice numbers and appears to be Rowley's go-to option. Lacey had 6 catches for 58 yards and a score in the opener. Jackson made noise in the pass rush, claiming 2 sacks in the game. The Thunder will look to pick up their second win over the Storm in as many seasons.
QUOTABLE
Storm head coach Lawrence Samuels on the loss to the Gladiators: “When you’re playing a team that went to the ArenaBowl, you have to execute. We had our chances, we just turned the ball over. Turnovers killed us.”
Thunder head coach Mike Hohensee on the win over the KISS: “We just wanted to win. All the other accolades and things are for the organization. For all these players, that are grinding every day, putting the hours in in the meeting rooms, we just wanted the ‘W’.”
FEATURED TWEETS
EXTRA
The Thunder traded for former Arizona Rattler and New Orleans VooDoo defensive back Allen Chapman on March 30 in exchange for claim position. Chapman, who spent the 2013 training camp with the Indianapolis Colts, has 43 tackles and 3 interceptions in his AFL career.
