June 2 -- It's been not even three months since tearing his Achilles and Wesley Matthews is back on the court.
The soon-to-be free agent guard sent out an Instagram video tonight showing him doing some light dribbling and shooting. It's just one step in a journey of steps in his recovery.
Matthews suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of the Blazers win over the Dallas Mavericks on March 5. Starting from the right angle three-point line when there was a "pop" sound and went to the ground.
Typically, recovery time for the injury can range from eight to 12 months. Matthews has vowed to be ready in five.
Matthews will officially become a free agent at 9 p.m., June 30. President of Basketball Operations Neil Olshey has indicated that he wishes to resign Matthews, as well as teammates LaMarcus Aldridge and Robin Lopez.

This is very light stuff and I am guessing he is ahead of the usual schedule in his rehab. It is a good sign though.

I realize he wants to come back as soon as he can. He mentioned five months. I hope he's taking the doctors' advice and is not rushing things.
