I heard some of the people on that site have been giving her crap. Like treating her like she doesn't know anything. We know that is not even close to the truth. They've done the same to me, just because I'm the "Spokane fan". They act like she and I don't know much about our perspective cities. It's not like we've lived in these places the "Gurus" think they know everything about. It's toxic there. Unless you sip the cool-aid about the future of the league and root for bigger teams, you're irrelevant. I thought about signing up for it, but after what she told me about things similar to what you said, I'm going to pass. I actually like arena and indoor football better than the NFL. It's so much faster and a lot more fun. I also think it's easier to follow a team even with all the player adds and drops than in the NFL. Of course, when it comes to college, nothing compares to the Golden Bears!

I don't like to blame the refs at all really, but yeah, some strange calls from them it seems. That illegal forward pass looked fine to me although didn't see that one live. I actually didn't mind that fumble call (don't kill me) but not sure if the letter of law if that is a fumble or not. Looked like a tough/close call to me all right.
And yeah, that illegal formation overturning that long 4th down conversion... Is that the rule? Only 4 guys are allowed to be on the line of scrimmage? Yeah, don't think I've ever seen or heard that one called on an offense before, strange to me. And then the delay of game on the Steel, they were in the bonus and lost an extra 5 yards? How long has that one been around and bonus...? They had too many delay of games or offensive penalties or something....?

Finally.
As much flack as Southwick gets, the man doesn't give up.

Funny thing about CBS Sports's GameTrax with Portland.
They have the Steel icon in the scoreboard, but the helmet logo is last year's Thunder helmet. Go figure.

Some of these things just do not makes sense. David, do you have a thought on those?

I thought there were supposed to be five guys on the line of scrimmage. The only ones who are not are the QB, FB and the WR in motion. Now that I think about it, pretty sure you need only 4 guys on the line at the snap. Think it's like in the NFL and college too where the receiver in motion is never considered on the line no matter where he ends up at the snap of ball. No idea if you're allowed to "cover up the tight end" like they ruled there, but I don't think I've seen that call in an arena game.

Some of these things just do not makes sense. David, do you have a thought on those? There's no secret that home teams get more favorable penalties, especially when it comes to Philadelphia, Arizona, and San Jose. Unless you're Spokane. And there was data to prove that Spokane was penalized more than most teams at home. As for the Illegal Formation thing? Here's what I get out of the rulebook: Four offensive players must be on the line of scrimmage at the snap; one of the linemen must declare himself the Tight End. I'm guessing a WR or a RB wasn't set properly? I'm not sure. As for the Bonus penalty? If you perform the same penalty x-number of times, like a false start or offsides, the other team gets the "bonus" so the penalty yardage on the team that is penalized will be twice the yardage. It's been in the AFL as long as I can remember it.
