They have messed with Gilson's stats once again, calling a 14 yard gain as a 14 yard loss. Our stats will reflect the accurate stats.

Austin's pass was intercepted, but there are penalties which give the ball to the Steel at the J-18. First down.

There are always odd moments in these games. Steel retain the ball.

The interception counts, but it is now Jacksonville's ball at their 3.

That should do it. Hopefully we have a better game against the KISS next week. Hopefully we get some health with our receivers.

Thank you to everyone for showing up. It is very greatly appreciated! Special thanks to DiamondThief for getting us ready for the game with a terrific preview, and for putting together the summaries for the second half. Thank you to David for helping with the summaries for the first half. Very much appreciation to pajarito, Yeseeka and Kasey for contributing to the thread! The Spokane Empire play on Friday, May 27 at the Colorado Crush. We have the game time at 7 p.m., but I think that might be 6 p.m. pacific and 7 p.m. mountain. We will clarify that in the game thread. Be sure to join us for that. The Steel play at the L.A. KISS on Saturday, May 28. Kickoff is a couple of minutes after 7. Be sure to join us for that as the Steel try to #BeatLA! Again, thank you to everyone for visiting, reading and commenting!

Didn't expect the final score to be as ugly as it was. Big time bummer. Empire play at 7:30 mountain time, which means the game is at 6:30 PM west coast. Hopefully the Steel can beat the KISS next week. As "improved" as they are, I still don't buy into the KISS this year.

It makes me wonder what will happen when you get some of these games that have been close, even at times, which have been close. I wonder if being at home will make the difference and swing the pendulum in the Steel's favor. The injuries and penalties are really hurting the team. I would expect a couple new receivers added over the next week.
