Tale of the two halves. At least they won the first half? 4 picks and a turnover on downs and no points to the 1 minute warning of the 2nd half. I am really shocked. I can see the Soul outplaying the Steel in the second half, but this is just curious. Dolezel made some major adjustments at halftime and Ron James did not.

That is the first kickoff return for Shaine Boyle, and he took it to the house. Maybe he should return some more!

Dunno about the big celebration given how the 2nd half has turned out, but nice return all right by Boyle.

The onside kick return for the Soul is under review.

The play has been reversed. The Soul will have the ball at the Steel 8.

The Soul basically run out the clock. The Soul beat the Steel 59-38.

We just had no offense in the second half. I thought our defense was pretty decent.
I HATE LOSING!!!!

it's time to stop talking about improvement. the Steel had this game in their grasps in the first half. the penalties don't seem to be an issue. it's the turnovers and inability to convert on 3rd and 4th downs. The Steel are not so much young, but they are so new to each other. this is kind of nuts. it could have been something special tonight, but you have to play a complete game, and the Steel's offense did not.

Penalties didn't dominate this game for either team really, which was nice since it does for way too many games in the league. Penalties helped create a 3rd and long for their first drive of the 2nd half which helped lead to the first pick for Austin. Then followed by a crazy pick 6. A turnover on downs and nice pick by the Soul after that just kinda sunk everything there. Tough half all right followed by the promising opening one.

The Steel actually have done a very good job in cutting down on the penalties the past few weeks. This was a horrible second half. I thought the Steel really could have taken this game, but the offense was non-existent in the second half.

Not the result we wanted, but if the Steel can put together two halves like they had in the first half, the outcome can be different. Thank you to DiamondThief for a great preview! The previews you and David do make it so much easier to learn about our teams and follow them! Thanks also for the first half summaries! Thank you to David for taking over the third and fourth quarter summaries! The stats help us all understand the basics of what happened and who made the impacts! Thank you to pajarito for being with us for the whole game. It was great to have your insight. Thank you to Yeseeka (you're never last!) and to Kasey for keeping the conversation going. Next week is a league-wide bye week, so we will see you in two weeks when the Steel host the Orlando Predators, who they almost beat in week 2! The Steel lost 53-50 in that one and will be looking to beat the Predators for the first time ever. The Spokane Empire play in three weeks at home in the Intense Conference Championship against either the Nebraska Danger or Billings Wolves. I'm sure David will have some Empire content coming up between now and then. I just want everyone to know that I enjoy doing this and am having a lot of fun! Thank you guys! - Heidi
