I know they are 2 different questions but do you think Chip Kelly should move back to college? As a secondary question will he? I personally think the answer to both is no. I hope he succeeds in bringing his offense to the NFL and I don't think he will go back to college on his own accord (as in leaving the 49ers to take a college job). Thoughts?

I don't see him as going back to a college team in the next year or two. Maybe, if he completely busts with the 49ers after his third year with them, we could see him back in college. The 49ers don't have any players. The GM needs to help Kelly build the team by brining in some quality players. This coming off season could be pretty interesting in Santa Clara.

I see Tom Gamble becoming the GM of the 49ers next year. He was the guy who helped hire him to the 49ers in the first place. I think Deshaun Watson would be a good fit for the next QB of the 49ers.

They should be in a good position to take Watson. I'm not too familiar with his style of play, but that could be a step in the right direction.

If he wanted to go back, I think he would have jumped on the Oregon job and bailed on the 49ers. That's my opinion.
I'm going in the mindset that he wants to stick it out in the NFL as long as he can before realizing he may be more suited for college. I give him 2-3 seasons total in San Fran before he's gone.

Makes sense. I think he will be with the 49ers at least until the 2018 season maybe more depending on how the next couple offseasons go for the 49ers.

The 49ers fired their last coach after one season. I don't think they're going to let go of Chip after one or two years. I'm basically with the consensus that he'll be there for at least three years.

Yeah, if the 49ers were to fire Chip they would paying last years coach, Chip, and whoever Chip's replacement would be all at the same time.

Sounding like the 49ers are going to fire Chip and their GM tomorrow after their finale against the Seahawks.
Chip's either looking at taking a year off and returning to College Football or the Rams are going to try and go after him.

I just don't see another NFL team taking a chance on him. However, the Rams could be an interesting choice. I bet he is mentioned as a candidate and may interview, but I doubt he gets the job.

You never know with the Rams ownership. They took a lot longer than everyone else in realizing Jeff Fisher was never going to get them over .500, so don't be shocked if they take a shot at Chip. I don't think it'll happen, but I wouldn't be surprised. but I agree, I think he's going back to college. I doubt he'll coach next season, but more likely in 2018.

My hope is that Sumlin gets canned and Chip becomes the coach of Texas A&M. Probably won't happen. Though I hope he does go to the SEC. I think he would spice that conference up.

Chip Kelly could definitely take over that job. As a Cal graduate, I really don't like that move. I think they should have given Dykes another year. I almost think they fired Dykes because they have Kelly in their sights. It could be a good move for him though.

I hope Chip goes to Cal or anywhere in college for that matter as I would like him to succeed. I still think he should be an NFL coach though.

Given his recent success there, another year or two would have been appropriate. The only real NFL rumors I've heard are the Rams job (very light rumors) and the offensive coordinator job for the Patriots should Josh McCaniels be hired as a head coach.

I haven't heard any rumors of Chip to Rams. I can see Chip becoming the Pats OC, though more likely he would be an "offensive assistant" like Sarks was to Bama this past season. In fact Belichick offered a position like that last season www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/belichick-reportedly-invited-chip-kelly-to-spend-time-with-patriots-before-49ers-job/ Personally, if Cal calls and is like "We want you to be our coach" he is going back to college. If they don't call the likelihood of him replacing McD in some capacity with the Pats seems likely. I don't know how likely it is that McD becomes a coach though.

At this point the Jaguars are willing to try anything. They haven't been relevant since their last playoff berth in 2007 and even worse since they got rid of QB David Garrard. Probably Chip's last stand in the NFL if he gets the job. I doubt he'll be an NFL head coach again.
