Colorado Crush quarterback Liam Nadler has been named the Indoor Football League's Offensive Player of the Week for week 10, the IFL announced today.
Nadler, making just his fourth start of the season, was instrumental in leading the Crush to a 77-73 shootout win over the Wichita Falls Nighthawks in Loveland on April 21. It was the first home win of the season for Colorado.
He completed 18 of 23 passes (78.2 percent) for season highs of 273 yards and seven touchdowns. He also ran three times for 35 yards and a pair of scores. His 25 yard strike to Kyle Kaiser with 17 seconds to go in the game proved to be the game winner.
On the season, Nadler is 52 of 79 (65.8 percent) for 624 yards, 17 touchdowns and three interceptions. He has rushed 14 times for 122 yards and four touchdowns. The 6'5" Nadler was a four-year starter at Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Crush wide receiver Kaiser made the Honorable Mention list for Offensive Player of the Week for his five receptions, 77 yards and three touchdowns. Crush kick returner Daniel Lindsey made Honorable Mention for Special Teams Player of the week for his 26.0 yard kickoff return average and a kickoff returned for a touchdown. Lindsey also recorded an interception.
Nebraska Danger defensive lineman Eze Obiora was named Defensive Player of the Week, while Spokane Empire Offensive Specialist was named Special Teams Player of the Week.
In addition to Kaiser the Honorable Mention list for Offensive Player of the Week consisted of: QB Brion Carnes (Cedar Rapids Titans), RB Robbie
Rouse (Sioux Falls Storm) and QB Cody Sokol (Arizona Rattlers).
The Honorable Mention list for Defensive Player of the Week consisted of: DB James Calhoun (Salt Lake Screaming Eagles), DB Elijah Fields (Sioux Falls Storm), LB Javicz Jones (Iowa Barnstormers) and (DB) Keith Reynolds (Green Bay Blizzard).
In addition to Lindsey, the Honorable Mention list for Special Teams Player of the Week consisted of: KR Marcus Barnett (Cedar Rapids Titans), KR Tyler Williams (Wichita Falls Nighthawks) and KR Korey Williams (Sioux Falls Storm.
The Crush, who are 2-6 on the season, visit the Iowa Barnstormers on April 29 at 5:05 p.m. (pacific). SCtoC will feature a preview and game thread for that game to be posted later today.
