#84 - DEVIN MAHINA (WR)
Devin Mahina was destined to be a fan favorite in Salt Lake City. The former Brigham Young University tight end is now the Screaming Eagles' leading receiver with 46 receptions for 446 yards and 10 touchdowns. He is 6'6" and 265 lbs. and a huge target for Screaming Eagles quarterback Verlon Reed. Mahina and Reed are the only two Screaming Eagles offensive players to appear in all 10 of the teams' games this season. Mahina made an immediate impact with the team as he caught 18 catches for 160 yards and six touchdowns through the first three games of the season.
At BYU, Mahina caught 46 passes for 554 yards and five scores. He began college in 2007, coming in as the number 11 tight end in from high school at Upland High School in California. He spent time with the Washington Redskins of the NFL in 2015.

Mahina recently took a moment to answer our questions:
1. What do you consider to be your greatest achievement in football so far?
Playing in the NFL, for the Washington Redskins.
2. What were your first impressions of Project FANchise and the Salt Lake Screaming Eagles?
I was intrigued to see how it was going to play out, and excited to have more of a relationship with the fans.
3. What was it that made you want to come to Utah and to earn a roster spot on the team?
I loved my time playing football at BYU, and I was thrilled to come back and play for the amazing fans.
4. Who has inspired you the most in your football career and in life?
My Dad; he always pushed me to be the best I could be.
5. What is your biggest long-term goal for your football career?
My long-term goal is to make a 53-man roster for NFL.
6. What would you like to accomplish this season?
Win the championship.
7. What are you looking forward to most if you earn a spot on the Screaming Eagles' roster?
Playing football again.
8. What would you like Screaming Eagles and IFL fans to know about you?
My nickname is Moon, because my last name, Mahina means “Moon” in Tongan.
