In the indoor game, players have too be able too adapt to many positions simply because of the shorter rosters; thus a defensive back might see action as a quarterback or a running back or a wide receiver.
The way the players handle the skills required for this will tell how long they will remain in the game.
The scouts who watch from the NFL and CFL get a better idea of how these players might fit into their systems by watching the players perform dual skills. Players should learn all they can about the game because injuries might force them to play in an area or position they are not familiar with.
A teams playoff fate might be determined on how well that player handles the pressure.
Struggling teams can't go out and find replacements for their injured players all the time, so they have to depend on the players they have too do their job.
It's hard for some players to adjust and some don't make the cut but if they do go on to the NFL they can help their NFL teams or strengthen an area of need that come become important to there teams playoff chances.
This week the Screaming Eagles are down to their last chance as they host the Cedar Rapids Titans on Monday night. It figures too be a close one with the Eagles, but I predict them winning by a count of 60-50.
Next week, we will examine the leagues veteran rule, is it good or bad for the game.

This reminds me of what Coach McCarthy told Bannock in an interview here on the site prior to the season starting. He actually talked about Verlon Reed, who can play both quarterback and wide receiver, which he did at the colleges he attended. We've also seen that with players like James Calhoun and Juwan Dotson lately who have stepped up on the opposite side of the ball when needed. I very much agree with your point here, since we have seen it this season.

I also think about the Portland Thunder's playoff game against the Arizona Rattlers in 2014. Due to injuries at linebacker, coach Sauk used Darron Thomas at linebacker. Thomas intercepted Nick Davila for a pick-6. He also had three tackles in the game, and served time on special teams while serving as backup to Kyle Rowley.

I remember when Arvell Nelson played LB for the Gladiators.
