2/6/18 --
The following is the revised 2018 schedule for the Arizona Rattlers, released today.
Entering their second IFL season, the Rattlers will try and repeat as league champions. After a starting the season 4-4, Arizona rattled off eight straight wins to clinch home field advantage in the Intense Conference playoffs. They defeated the Nebraska Danger 62-36 to advance to the IFL championship game, there, they turned back the six-time defending champion Sioux Falls Storm.
Prior to their entry into the IFL, the Rattlers spent 24 years as members of the Arena Football League. over that time, they won five ArenaBowls, including three straight from 2012 to 2014. They reached the playoffs in 21 of those 24 seasons, including their last eight seasons in the AFL.
Arizona begins its quest to repeat in a rematch against the Storm on Feb. 25 in Phoenix. The Rattlers play four of their next five and six of their next nine at home with a pair of road contests, on June 2 at the Iowa Barnstormers and on June 16 at the Nebraska Danger. The finale is a rematch of the 2017 Intense Conference championship game, which the Rattlers won to earn a trip to last season's United Bowl.
The Rattlers play eight home games and six road games in 2018. Each IFL team has three bye weeks over the course of the season, with the exceptions of the Cedar Rapids Titans and Green Bay Blizzard which have two. The Rattlers byes come in weeks 2, 7 and 16.
The Indoor Football League released its schedule on November 14, which included eight teams. The revised schedule is the result of an Iowa county court's decision to ban the Bloomington Edge and the West Michigan Ironmen from playing in the IFL (nor any other league) for the 2018 season. Both teams will be eligible to officially join the IFL for the 2019 season. The IFL is entering its 10th season of existence.
All Rattlers games will be broadcast locally on the radio and will be available for streaming through those stations. SCtoC will provide links in its previews in previews of the games. All IFL games are available to be streamed on video via the IFL's YouTube channel.
