Greetings again, it is me Spiderfan here and today I am bringing you my Random Thoughts & Stuff on Week 15 of the NFL season. We have a WHOLE lot to get to, so let us begin!
What is a catch?
We begin this week with a topic that shouldn't be controversial, but is anyway. That is the simple, yet complicated question: what is a catch? This question comes up because of the controversial ending to the Patriots-Steelers game where inside the red zone Steelers tight end Jesse James caught a TD that would have won the game. Except the refs ruled it an incomplete pass and on the next play Big Ben threw a game losing interception.
It appears to me that James catches the ball, breaks the plain of the endzone, and scores a TD no questions asked. The play is over before the bobble of the ball, and you could argue the bobble is meaningless because the ball had been secured. What does this all mean? It means the Steelers were robbed plain and simple. It also means that NFL refs still have no idea what a catch is after all these years, which is scary because more games could end like this.
The Index Card Game
Last night had another game as during the Cowboys-Raiders game an index card was used to determine a first down in the 4th quarter. Why refs don't use more accurate equipment than a chain and an index card I have no idea. Even so, the Cowboys won and are alive in the playoff hunt. Meanwhile the Raiders season is over, which means I'll have to pick a new team to represent the AFC in the SB when the time comes.
Oh the Chargers.
I knew the time would come in an important moment in an important game that the Chargers would revert to their prior selves. This past game against the Chiefs had some of the hallmarks of a Chargers game like a blown lead and Rivers INTs. Shame too, because I wouldn't have minded seeing 2 LA teams in the playoffs and have the "no one cares about either LA team narrative" crushed.
About that Eagles-Giants game
For the first time all year the Giants were actually the Giants, playing well against a good Eagles team. However the real reason they aren't the Tinys this week is because of 2 things. 1.) Doug Pederson realized that playing a close game against the Giants isn't a good sign of things to come and 2.) The Giants were robbed on a pass interference call in the end zone. What was up with the refs this week?
*sigh* The Texans

THE LOLCOW REPORT is on hiatus
When I decided to make this segment, I thought the Broncos would continue to be lolcows. However, they have been the Broncos the past couple weeks and I'm disappointed because I enjoyed laughing at them.
After having a good game last week Siemian was hurt and was replaced by Brock who actually had a good game for once. Both of them will end up being replaced by Paxton Lynch though.
Other thoughts:
-Panthers are still the best team in the NFC in my opinion, but the Vikings did close the cap this week
-The Bills won the ugliest 24-16 win ever and are still alive in the playoff hunt. It will be interesting to see what happens in the AFC the next 2 weeks.
-The Lions are still alive in the playoff too. It will be interesting to see what happens in the NFC the next 2 weeks.
-The Rams utterly obliterated the Seahawks in a game that I did not see coming. The Rams are for real folks.
-The Chiefs are back folks. They had a rough patch, but my goodness I've been impressed these past 2 weeks with their play.
-Jimmy G keeps winning games for the 49ers and I am impressed.
-The Bucs win MNF. Calling it.
THE ROAD TO 0-16
Team that currently doesn't have a win. I will do this segment until every team has a win.
Team that currently doesn't have a win:
Cleveland Browns
Hue Jackson sucks. He ripped Kizer and said he may "never get it". Kizer isn't elite but saying the youngest QB in the NFL may never get it is among the hottest of hot takes I've ever heard. Dorsey and Jackson deserve to have 0-16 on their records. The 0-16 train rolls on CHOO CHOO
And with that this edition of Random Thoughts & Stuff is in the history books. I thank you all reading and look forward to seeing you again. This is spiderfan out.
