Playoffs everybody, it is me spiderfan here! Wait let me re-try this.
Hey everybody it is me spiderfan here (that sounds much better). Today I am going to be giving you my thoughts on Wild Card Weekend. Let us begin!
Sacksonville Jaguars vs Buffalo Bills
In a game that was nothingness for the first 28 minutes, it turned out to be surprisingly thrilling. There was not a lot of scoring but it felt like whoever did score would be in position to win the football game. That team was the Jaguars who won the game with great defense and Blake Bortles' legs. Speaking of which kudos to Blake Bortles for running with the football as opposed to staying in the pocket and not getting anywhere.
As for the Bills, they looked good in the first half despite scoring only 3 points, however the defense of Sacksonville managed to contain the offense, and the defense of the Bills failed to keep the Jaguars out of the end zone. The Bills still had to chance to tie the game in the closing seconds but Tyrod got injured and Nate Peterman threw an interception. Go figure. Will this game be Tyrod Taylor's last game as a Bill? Only time will tell.
The big question after this game is can the Jaguars beat the Steelers again? The answer is yes, as we saw earlier in the season. However, they won't win a game against the Steelers in which Bortles has more rushing than passing yards. The rematch is going to must see TV IMO.
Atlanta Falcons vs LA Rams
This game came down to the Falcons being the veteran team and dominating the new kids on the block. The Falcons look like they are at least NFC Championship Game bound, if not Super Bowl bound after that performance. I thought they would lose it after the Super Bowl loss, but the Falcons proved me wrong.
I will say Congrats to the Rams for a good season and that the future looks bright in LA... for both teams.
Carolina Panthers vs New Orleans Saints
Missed opportunities. That pretty much describes this game for the Carolina Panthers. They had chances in the red zone that they blew with both a missed FG and a dropped touchdown. The Panthers fell apart on their last drive and lost the game. The Panthers REALLY should have won that game and you can't help but be dissatisfied after watching a game like that, especially when you add on the controversial intentional grounding call.
The Saints did play good, however I don't see them making it past the Vikings.
Kansas City Chiefs vs Tennessee Titans
At halftime when the Chiefs were up 21-3, I thought I had made a terrible mistake having the Patriots as my revised AFC Super Bowl pick. Turns out that was actually a good decision because the Chiefs choked away a game that didn't seem possible to choke judging by the way momentum was going. It ain't over till it is over though and the Titans roared 19 unanswered points to win the game. There was questionable officiating as well and here is a list of the errors via PFT.
Did the Chiefs get robbed? Probably, but I don't want to take away the resilience of Mike Mularkey's squad to comeback and win even with the bad calls against the Chiefs.
Other thoughts:
-Matt Nagy was a good hire by the Bears. Sounds like the Colts wanted him though. Just like I predicted they would.
-What has been wrong with NFL refs this season?
-The 0-16 Browns video is coming eventually
-Mike Shula got fired? I must be one of the only people to view him highly.
-Gruden to the Raiders is going to be awesome. Ignore the skeptics.

And with that all said my Wild Card Round edition of Random Thoughts & Stuff is over. I hope you all enjoyed and I will see you next week!
