The Portland Timbers will look to make their way back to the MLS Cup in 2018. The 2015 MLS Cup champions are set to embark on their eighth season in the MLS. The Timbers finished first in the Western Conference standings and reached the Conference Semifinals before being eliminated by the Houston Dynamo, 2-1, in the match. The Dynamo went on to the Conference finals where they lost to the Seattle Sounders. Toronto FC defeated the Sounders 2-0 to win the MSL Cup.
Schedule
The Timbers open the 2018 regular season with five straight road games, which start with a date on March 4 with the Los Angeles Galaxy. The home opener is on April 14 against Minnesota United FC. There is a four-game homestand during the end of July and the first two games of August. They close the 2018 season with a visit to their Cascadia Cup rival Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
