STANFORD CARDINAL at ARIZONA ST. SUN DEVILS

When: Thursday, October 18 at 6 p.m.
Where: Sun Devil Stadium; Tempe, Arizona.

2017: The Cardinal defeated the Sun Devils, 34-24, in Palo Alto.
Cardinal Notes: The Cardinal are reeling after two straight losses to Notre Dame and Utah. Their offense has been stagnant and their defense has been burned. Coming off a bye week, the Cardinal will look to reboot their season in Tempe. The Cardinal played catch up in their week 6 loss to Utah. Bryce Love, after sitting out against the Utes, should be good to go in this one. K.J. Costello completed 26 of 41 yards for 381 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. Given the trend to passing for the Cardinal, three players accumulated 100 or more receiving yards. Kaden Smith and J.J. Arcega-Whiteside each caught eight passes for 128 and 103 yards, respectively. Trenton Irwin added seven catches for an even 100 yards.
Sun Devils Notes: The Sun Devils are coming off a loss, but are still looking to make some noise in the Pac-12 South. Three more wins make them bowl bound, and a win over the Cardinal would be a feather in their cap. In a rough 28-21 loss to Colorado in week 6. Manny Wilkins went 12 of 18 for 222 yards and a touchdown. Eno Benjamin scored two touchdowns to go with his 120 yard off 28 rushes. Sophomore Frank Darby caught three passes for 131 yards and a touchdown. N'Keal Harry had three receptions for 62 yards. Sun Devils head coach Herm Edwards has a 54-74 record as an NFL head coach with the New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs.

2017: The Golden Bears defeated the Beavers, 37-23, in Berkeley.
Golden Bears Notes: Cal's victory over Oregon St. was one of only two conference wins for the Golden Bears last season. They are looking for their first conference win of this season in this one. Former Beavers quarterback Jonathan Smith has taken the reigns of the team and is going through some predictable growing pains. The Beavers are coming off a bye week. Wisconsin native Conor Blount lines up under center for the Beavers. He went 15 of 21 for 172 yards in the Beavers' 56-37 loss to Washington St. in week 6.
