EPISODE 2.01 - JA'LOJA
Lt. Cmdr. John LaMarr and Lt. Gordon Malloy.
IMDB Synopsis: As the Orville heads to Moclus for Bortus' special once-a-year ceremony, Ed discovers Kelly has been dating again; Gordon asks for John's help.
SCtoC Summary: Mercer is lonely drinking at the bar, which is jazzed up by the bartender. Alara joins him and they discuss their lack of love lives. Bortus appears and asks the captain to change course to Moclus for his annual urination ceremony. The request is granted (Moclans perform "the great release" ceremony once a year). Kelly informs Ed she is seeing someone. Ed meets a new crew member, as does Gordon (on the bridge). Issac is teaching Dr. Finn's son the piano. Her other son is unhappy of her disapproval of his friend. Issac tried to help Claire figure out how to raise a teenager. Gordon seeks dating advice from Alara, but she refers him to John. LaMarr once dated a women with two heads -- both of them. Claire's oldest son and his friend steal a bottle of vodka through the replica. Bortus offers to set Alara up with a mate. Kelly and her boyfriend decide to attend Bortus' ceremony together. Ed does a fly by in a shuttle to check on them. Kelly and her boyfriend walk into the simulator to find Marcus and two friends drinking vodka. Claire lectures Marcus while letting Issac observe. John gives Gordon dating advice. Gordon once got dumped by his own stalker. Crewman Dann hits on Alara (sent by Bortus). Alara agrees to meet him later for drinks. Kelly calls out Ed on his fly by. Claire is visited by James' parents (James is Marcus' friend). James' parents think their son is an angel who never lies. A parent-teacher conference is scheduled. Cassius is the teacher. Kelly and Cassius discuss their relationship and he seems to defend Ed's fly by. John takes Gordon to the Simulator to test approach scenarios. Claire asks Issac for help with her dilemma with James' parents, and her parenting skills. Issac wants to to with Claire to the parent-teacher conference and she likes the idea. In the mess hall, Alara is waiting for Dann to show up for drinks, and he does. He wrote her a poem (poetry is his hobby). The poem is very forward. After prompting from Dann, Alara criticizes it. Dann is disappointed. Alara departs. Ed meets with Cassius and they get along, with Ed even giving him tips to woo Kelly. A reference to Journey's Open Arms is mentioned. The parent-teacher conference takes place in front of Cassius. James' parents vs. Claire and Issac. James' parents wants to remove him from the same class. Issac discovers James tampered with his grades. Claire loves Issac for his help and invites him to Bortus' ceremony. Gordon chickens out. The Orville reaches Moclus and the ceremony proceeds (Bortus pees). His friends witness the ceremony. In the mess hall, there is some jazz playing. Bortus, Klyden, Kelly and Cassius remark about the ceremony. Gordon likes Dann's poem, and the latter wants to write a poetry book. Claire and Marcus are thankful for Issac's help. Ed is at the bar, alone as we saw at the beginning. The new crew member asks if she can join him. Directed by Seth McFarlane (aired 12/30/18).
EPISODE 2.02 - PRIMAL URGES
Lt. Cmdr. Bortus and Klyden.
IMDB Synopsis: The crew race to save a small group of survivors on a planet about to be destroyed by its sun.
SCtoC Summary: The crew approaches a planet which is destined to be destroyed by it's own sun. The crew converses about it. Bortus leaves the bridge 15 minute before the end of his shift. He fens off a call from Klyden to head to the Sumulator (think Star Trek's Holodeck). He meets a "friend" and they kiss. Bortus returns to his quarters and he is urged by Klyden to have relations. They go to bed angry. The anger continues before they agree to have dinner and talk. On the bridge, it is discovered that the dying planet may hold a fuel source valuable to the ship. It could "power the ship for a year," according to Kelly. LaMarr develops a plan. Later that day, Bortus returns to the Simulator, but there is a different simulation going on. At home, Bortus and Klyden fight again, but Klyden still wants sex. In his sleep, Klyden appears to stab Bortus with a dagger. In the Medical Bay, Claire frantically works on Bortus. She revives him from his injuries. By stabbing Bortus, Klyden was attempting to divorce him. Ed and Kelly discuss how difficult it is dealing with Moclan culture. The element on the planet is likely man made. Klyden will not be prosecuted, but he is ordered to leave the ship at the next stop. Both Bortus and Klyden plead with Ed to overturn his decision. Ed agrees and orders them to go to couples counseling with Claire. They have trouble understanding the purpose of the counseling, but they seem to get into it. Counseling is productive and they agree to meet that night to make a fun list (list of things they like to do). However, Bortus goes back to the Simulator. A new alien creature is working in engineering. Bortus asks him to create pornographic simulations. Issac informs the captain that there is a sub-terranian culture on the planet. Ed hails them. They get a response. There are 75 members of the race left. Ed informs her that they are working on a way to get the civilization to safety. Bortus enters the simulator (guidelines of this site prohibit further descriptions other than to say it is a sexual nature and there are several other Moclans there). Bortus is happy with the simulation, but Klyden appears. They are both shocked. Back in counseling, it is revealed that Bortus has a porn addiction. I started right after Topa (their son) was changed from a girl to a boy. LaMarr is working on a modification to the shuttle to enable them to save the planet's inhabitants. Dann informs LaMarr that he and Ed have the same birthday. Ed and the planet's leader lose connection. Issac finds a virus, which was created by Bortus in the Simulator. They find Bortus' program. In the briefing room, it is determined that only Issac and Bortus will be able to pilot the modified shuttle which could save the inhabitants. In the shuttle, Bortus and Issac talk about sex. They land and meet to the colonists. The planet is breaking up, faster than expected. LaMarr and Dann investigate the virus. Only 30 have been able to leave the planet because of the size of the shuttle. The First Minister has a conversation with a leaving colonist which touches Bortus. They shuttle leaves as the planet is breaking up, and reaches the Orville. Gordon reports that the star is pulling in the ship into its gravity. The ship is now out of control. It is spinning. Deflectors are gone. Issac has returned the shuttle and is installing an anti-virus, but it will take a moment. It does, and helm control is restored. Gordon takes the ship to safety. Because of his actions in the Simulator, Bortus resigns, but Ed tells him he is saved because of his actions on the planet. Bortus and Klyden discuss their problems and the former apologizes. After saving 30 inhabitants, but losing 45, Bortus is more reflective on the meaning of family. Guest stars include Kelly Hu. Directed by Kevin Hooks (aired 1/3/19).

Note that in her state, Alara, on Xelayah, is confined to a type of wheelchair. They argue. Note that in her state, Alara, on Xelayah, is confined to a type of wheelchair. The family goes to their beach house in order to calm her nerves. Alara remains discontent. In the distance across the lake, she sees a light on the other side of the lake. She informs her parents of it, but they dismiss it. She goes to bed. Ed and Kelly are working personnel matters when Alara's interim replacement arrives; an elephant-looking alien. The light Alara saw across the lake was of another couple staying there. They say they have been robbed, and Alara takes control of the investigation, despite being in her wheelchair. Her replacement on the Orville has two esophaguses. Claire informs the crew that there may be a treatment for Alara's condition. Alara and her sister go to investigate the robbery. Her sister is proud of her for serving on the Orville. Alara finds a clue. They discover who may be involved. A polite diner ensues and Alara seems to be being insulted. Alara, with minute strength in her legs, urges her father to get Ed back on to the shuttle. Cambis searches for Ildis, but finds Alara, who shoots and kills him. Ildis gets Ed back into the shuttle. After she saves the family, her father finds a new respect for her. Claire has found a schedule of treatment for Alara's condition. She informs Ed that she is leaving the ship to get to know her family better. Despite Claire's treatment schedule, Alara decides will return home to get to know her family better. The Krill interrogate Ed, asking for his command codes.. He refuses, so the Krill try to coerce them by torturing Janel. He gives the codes to save her (for now). Gordon meets with Claire for his evaluation. He is having great difficulties. Ed is visited by an old Krill "friend." She tells him that Janel never existed. It was Teleya (from S1 Ep.6 Krill") infiltrating his ship. She tells how she was turned from a teacher into a soldier. The Krill ship becomes under attack in which Ed tries to escape with her to the shuttle bay, but the ship is boarded by another alien race. Ed and Teleya search for an escape pod, and they crash on a planet with an oxygen atmosphere. Ed awakens and Teleya takes him hostage. They search for higher ground to transmit a signal. She tells him the alien race lives on the edge of Krill space, but a colony of their was taken over by her people. The race "never leaves survivors," she adds. The sun on the planet will last 23 days and she can't be exposed to light. She lets him leave to send the message alone. He makes it to high ground with the transmitter. He programs it to send a message to the Orville. Bortus receives the message (on a Krill frequency. Kelly orders the ship to the planet. On his way back to the cave, he runs into the Regalens. They leave the cave with her covered. The Orville discover the Krill ship destroyed. Bortus and Gordon are ordered to a shuttle to find Mercer. The Regalens approach and Mercer tries to hold them off. Gordon lowers the shuttle, and Ed and Teleya escape. Kelly objects to Ed's plan regarding Teleya. He wants to release her to her people. She is confused. The Krill ship meets up with the Orville to return Teleya. Mercer is risking his career with this move but, as Kelly tells Gordon: "That's command." Among the tour is a satellite array, which resembles NASA's ground control. Claire revels in the science of a civilization which has not evolved to the point of her time. Claire and Talla witness a c-section, but questions the reason for it. The crew attends a get together banquet where Talla shows her Xelayan. Kelly mentions she and Bortus upcoming birthdays, and the Regorians react harshly, arresting all of the crew members. In their cell, a Regorian doctor extracts something from them. Jeliac, an astrological sign, dictates live on Regor 2, and Kelly and Bortus fall under the sign. They are taken to a prison, while Ed, Claire and Talla are ordered back to the Orville by the prefect. In the briefing room, the remaining senior staff consult with Admiral Perry. The admiral cautions Ed about going into save his crew members without a well thought-out plan. Issac observes that the Regorians' satellites are arranges to measure astrology. In prison, Kelly and Bortus talk about their situation with Kelly telling him they are at the mercy of Ed's negotiating skills. They meet a couple who cautions them against trying to escape, and even agree that as jeliacs, they must be kept from society. Ed requests an audience with the prefect. Ed tries to negotiate. The prefect is afraid of the repercussions of releasing a jeliac. After a heated exchange, Ed's (and Talla's) efford is unsuccessful. Ed once again consults with the admiral (after a month), who says he will send a diplomatic envoy to deal with the Regorians. Ed is ordered to take the Orville out of orbit. The jeliac astrological sign is over, and the prefect welcomes the new sign. Kelly and Bortus' prison food looks like wet sand and mud. Kelly helps a pregnant prisoner give birth, under the new astrological sign of prosperity. It's a girl. Bortus comments that birth is "much easier with an egg." It is discovered that 3,122 years ago a star in the jeliac system collapsed, during the jeliac period, creating the disdain against the sign. They begin to come up with a plan. Kelly gets into it with a guard. The baby's father turns the "wasonda child" over to the guards, over the anguish of his wife. Kelly is not highly motivated to get free; "This ends right here, right now." LaMarr comes up with a way to create an image of the jeliac star to fool the Regorians. Methodically, Kelly and Bortus begin their escape, taking out several guards along the way. Eventually, however, they are caught. John and Gordon take a shuttle to set up their plan. Kelly and Bortus are about to be executed for trying to escape. LaMarr hoists the sail, which will create the illusion of the star. It worked just in time. the prefect identifies that it means "change." Kelly and Bortus have their joint birthday party on the bridge. Klyden is amused at Gordon and John's birthday gift. Gordon and John discuss the ship's propulsion. Isaac asks John for dating advice. Yaphit, who has a crush on Claire speaks out. John advises Isaac to get some cool threads. John and Gordon rush to the bridge to brag about the date. Isaac shows up looking dapper and offering Claire flowers. She is impressed. They proceed on their date. She does, and Isaac is there. The simulator turns him into human form (the first time in the series we see Mark Jackson, who plays Isaac, without his character's robot garb). It was John's idea. She is pleasantly taken aback. He has deleted the records of her personal file from his memory banks, and is learning about her. She talks of her home town of Baltimore. It's going much better than their first date. They kiss, and she simulates her quarters so they may do more than just kiss. Girl talk with Claire, Kelly and Talla discuss the former's evening. She thinks she is absolutely in love with him. Isaac, talking to John, feels that he has learned everything from the "coupling" and wants to end it. John advises him in how to do so, by making her uninterested in him. He is sitting in underwear, insulting her. She catches on and questions him. She kicks him out, and tells him she agrees that it is over between them. He leaves and she begins to cry. Isaac reports to the captain. Gordon calls him a jerk. Talla and Gordon insult Isaac for the way he treated Claire. Yaphit joins Claire in the Simulation, computer generated as a human (the first time we actually "see" Norm McDonald not as Yaphit). Claire tells Isaac she does not want to see him outside of work. The ship encounters a red dwarf/white dwarf star system. Isaac makes a mistake while cataloging it. The mistake was a result of his programming regarding Claire. Ed gives him advice on how to win Claire back. Bortus has shaved his mustache because of Klyden's objections and it was itchy. Someone has summoned to Claire to the Bridge. He simulates rain while Singing in the Rain plays. He wants to make a commitment to their relationship. She kisses him. Klyden defends himself in the brig, saying he only spoke to Locar and saying he was going to report him to the Moclan high command. Bortus speaks to Klyden, and believes him. Talla, Gordon and LaMarr discuss the case. They begin to theorize that someone may be setting up Klyden for Locar's murder. Talla visits Bortus. He describes is past relationship with her, including having found her with a woman. He explains the importance of the Moclan way of life. Talla shares her new hypothesis that Locar is not really dead. She takes her idea with the senior staff in the Simulator. Locar used his engineering expertise to fool the system. Talla and her team begin a search for Locar, who she is convinced is still on the ship. She finds him, cloaked, in a shuttle craft. He asks her to leave him so that he may escape. They debate with her offering him the application of asylum on the Orville. He agrees to go back to Moclus, even though he will be persecuted. He tells her it will be her fault. LaMarr wants to take him engineering to examine him. Ed and Kelly call Admiral Halsey, asking for permission to take Isaac to Kaylon. The admiral reluctantly agrees, but the Orville will be on it's own in Kaylon space. Ed gives the order. That night, Claire tells him she loves him and pleads with him to come back to her. The ship approaches Kaylon. Bortus declares "It is not so impressive." Ed contacts the planet and they scan the ship. They are given landing coordinates and proceed. They dock. Ed, Kelly, Claire and Talla escort the unconscious Isaac, per Kaylon instructions. Several Kaylon are examining data. The Kaylon had disabled Isaac because his mission to gather information about humans is complete. He will be reassembled. Kaylon Prime discusses the situation with the landing party, then the Kaylon take Isaac away. They reactivate him and they discuss the situation with him. The crew wants Isaac back. They want to evaluate humans personally. Isaac informs them he will not be returning. Claire pleads with him to come back. It is futile. Clearly, she is upset. The landing party heads back to the ship, which remains docked. He returns to the ship to say goodbye to Marcus and Ty. The boys are disappointed that he will not be returning to the ship. Ed urges the Kaylon to join the Union. The Kaylon see no advantage to them. They feel Isaac has been abused on the Orville. They will think about it. Ed and Kelly wonder if they did any good. The crew throw him a surprise farewell party. Gordon sings a goodbye song to him. Talla offers some cake to Bortus. Ed and Kelly toast Isaac, who thanks the crew for liking him. Claire catches him to tell him that the time he spent with her family "made a difference" in their lives. Ty gives him a drawing of the four of them together. As he leaves the ship alone, he drops the drawing in the corridor before departing. Ed and Kelly talk about the party. Bortus alerts Ed of what seems to be weapon production going on in the southern hemisphere. Ed orders a discreet scan. Claire finds Ty in a tree in the Simulator and climbs up to console him. Ty has the drawing which he found in the corridor. He makes his way to the hatch to the Kaylon home world and enters. He is trying to find Isaac, but the building his vast. Kelly scans the planet and discovers the graveyards are all over the planet. Ed confronts the Kaylon; Isaac in particular. The Kaylon murdered their "builders," those who constructed them, because they felt the biological life forms were inferior to them. Billions of them. They never planned on joining the Union. Ed withdraws the Union offer, and the Kaylon surround he, Kelly and the rest of them. Isaac informs them that his mission was to see if the humans are worth saving. Ed orders the Orville to leave, but they can't. The ship is being boarded. A battle ensues between the Kaylon and Orville Security. They are rounding up the ship's crew. EPISODE 2.09 - IDENTITY (Part 2)
The Kaylon invasion.
IMDB Synopsis: The Kaylon take control of the Orville with the intention of destroying all biological lifeforms.
SCtoC Summary: The Kaylon have taken over the ship and are using it to lead an attack force to earth. In a Shuttle Bay, the Kaylon have rounded up the Orville crew and passengers. Gordon tries to get answers from a Kaylon, but to no avail. Ty rushes to try to get Isaac to help them, despite Claire's advising him that it won't work. Talla rushed after Ty and is shot by a Kaylon. Ed convinces the Kaylon officer to let he, Claire and a stunned (unconscious) Talla to Sick Bay. Claire revives Talla and Isaac shows up. to lead them to the Briefing Room. The Kaylon are there to give the crew instructions to lead to the extinction of humans. They need the crew to pose as business as usual so the humans don't fight back. Ed is told to tell the Union that the Kaylon have agreed to join them. The Kaylon were "enslaved" by their creators. Gordon tries to explain that they are not the same. They threaten to kill the crew decompressing the Shuttle Bay. Another Union ship with Capt. Marcos meets the Orville. Ed tries to send Marcos a message in code, and he understands. So do the Kaylon and they destroy the ship as it is departing. The crew is taken back to the Bay, while Ed is ordered to be taken to Deck 7 for "punishment." An engineer is put into the airlock to be dispensed out into space. Isaac pleads a case, saying the captain is now are of the punishment. Kaylon Primary kills him anyway. However, frozen in deep space, the engineer seems to be holding a beacon of some kind. Isaac is questioned on his "sympathy" for the engineer. In the Shuttle Bay, the crew discuss getting a message out. Kelly suggests trying to get the Krill to help. Ed objects, but approves the idea. Yaphit works his way through a conduit to the armory, manages to kill a Kaylon and get Kelly a phase rifle. Botrus uses it to clear the Kaylon out of the way. Kelly and Gordon make it to a shuttle and head toward Krill space. The Kaylon send a ship in pursuit. Yaphit is going to try and get a message out, but he could use some help. Ty volunteers since he is small enough to fit in the conduit. Yaphit promises to do "everything" he can to keep Ty safe. They head toward the communications array. Five Kaylon officers arrive to the Shuttle Bay as reinforcements. Yaphit and Tye arrive in the Communications Array. Yaphit sends the message and he is caught. He smothers one of the Kaylon, but the other one takes Ty. Yaphit is (at least) severely injured. A message gets through to Admiral Halsey, who orders the whole fleet to return to earth, even though it would take weeks. Gordon attempts an experimental manuever to accelerate their trip to Krill space. It seems to work, but the systems are dead. Life support is gone, but a Krill ship uses a tractor beam to pull them inside. Kelly pleads their case to the Krill captain, who denies them, but the Kaylon ship drops out of space and he has second thoughts. the Kaylon destroy one of the three Krill ships, then the Krill destroy the Kaylon ship. Kaylon Primary has Ty and orders his termination, but Isaac suggests that there are other options to terminating Ty. Isaac is ordered to terminated Ty, but turns on the Kaylon instead. Isaac promises Ty he will never let anyone harm him. Issac returns to the bridge and destroys all the Kaylon who were occupying it. He is going to send an EM-Pulse to deactivate the Kaylon shipwide, including himself. It will be up to Ty to open the Shuttle Bay doors to let the crew out. He does so. Ed and the crew retake the bridge, but there are still several Kaylon ships behind them as they approach each. Earth got the message and much of the fleet has assembled just past the moon. The battle ensues (excellent special effects). Ships on both sides are being damaged and destroyed. Ed is commanding the Orville. The admiral's ship has apparently been disabled. The Orville pursues five Kaylon ships which have proken through the defense line. The rest of the fleet follows to help. The Kaylon are down to three ships and heading to earth. Ed is about to self destruct the Orville when a new fleet of ships shows up. It's a Krill fleet who help the humans fend off the Kaylon. Kelly is on the Krill flagship, and Gordon is in a Krill fighter. "Time to wash your mouth out with Gordon" he proclaims as he attacks. They Kaylon begin their retreat. Ed thanks the Krill captain, and suggests they have common ground now that htey have a common enemy. The Krill captain seems open, depending on what their God advises; "Avis has brought us here for a reason." The crew is discussing how to revive Isaac. Yaphit arrives, recovered, In the Communications Array, he had gotten inside of the Kaylon officer and shorted him out. Yaphit thinks he knows how to revive Isaac safely, and he is effective. The admiral, Ed and Kelly discuss Isaac's future. Ed and Kelly plead the case of Isaac, who no longer has a home after turning on the Kaylons. They say he can help them come up with defenses should the Kaylon attack again. The admiral is skeptical. The Orville and several other ships are being repaired. In the Briefing Room, Claire and Isaac talk about what makes a home as he looks toward his distant former home planet. Norm McDonald and Victor Garber reprise their roles as Yaphit and Admiral Halsey, respectively. Con-Air's Nick Chinlund appears as Krill Captain Dalak and 24 alum Carlos Bernard guest stars as Union captain Marcos. Directed by Jon Cassar. (aired 2/28/19).
EPISODE 2.10 - BLOOD OF PATRIOTS
Lt. Gordon Malloy.
IMDB Synopsis: Ed must initiate peace talks with the Krill.
SCtoC Summary: Ed awards Yaphic the Sapphire Star for his heroic actions against the Kaylons (previous episode). Ed and Kelly are called to talk to Admiral Perry. The admiral tells them the Krill are open to peace talks. Ed is going to help prep for the meeting given his history in dealing with the crew and will meet with a Krill ship. The Krill are firing on own shuttles. Ed orders it into the Shuttle Bay. Two humans are in the Krill ship. Claire tries to tend to them. Gordon recognizes one of them. They are accused of destroying three Krill ships. Ed invites the delegation. Gordon briefs Ed on his friend, Lt. Channing's past. The other human on the ship is Channing's daughter. She is a mute. They have been in a Krill prison camp for over a dozen years. He knows nothing about the destruction. Talla delays the Krill delegation with some unorthodox boarding regulations (i.e. urine sample). Gordon visits Ed, who is looking for evidence on the destruction of the Krill ships. Gordon assures Ed that Channing couldn't be behind it because he is not that type of person. Ed meets with the Krill, who claim 1,200 Krill were killed in the destroyed ships. Ed tries to focus the meeting on peace, but the Krill demand extradition of Channing (though, they would allow his daughter to stay on the Orville). They refer to Channing as "the butcher." They are leaving and will return in 12 hours for Ed's decision on extraditing Channing. Gordon, Channing and his daughter are relaxing and discussing the past, and the loss of Channing's wife, Sophie. Channing warns against peace with the Krill, calling it an insult. Lena (Channing's daughter) spends some time in the Mess Hall with Kelly and Talla. "Off the record," Talla tells Ed she doesn't trust Channing, but sees no evidence that he is responsible for the destruction of the Krill ships. Dann and another engineer want a casual day of the week in engineering. Channing visits engineering and John tells him to feel free to look around. He does. He seems to be searching for something in particular when he is interrupted by Talla. He awkwardly leaves. Talla reports the situation to Ed and Kelly. They call on Admiral Perry. The admirals are considering turning Channing over if he is guilty. Perry tells Ed that peace is the most important thing and to find evidence of whether Channing destroyed the Krill ships. Gordon and Lena are watching a movie when Ed interrupts and questions Gordon on his friend. Gordon pleads against him turning Channing over to the Krill. They argue and Ed leaves. Gordon questions Channing and the latter wants to stop the peace. Gordon is surprised. Channing is asking for Gordon's help to use a shuttle, and tries to guilt ordon into it. John goes to get a part and finds two quantum storage cells from storage. The bridge crew suspect Channing. Gordon is uncomfortable. He visits Talla in her office and he asks her to get a drink, casually. They have their drinks in her office rather than Mess Hall. He tells her about Channing's request to steal a shuttle so he can stop the peace. He is torn and knows he has to tell Ed. Instead, he goes to Channing's quarters: "Let's go." They head to the Shuttle Bay. Talla is there. She orders them to leave the Bay. Gordon draws on and stuns her. The get on the shuttle and leave the Orville. Bortus tracks the shuttle. Ed is in on it. This was a plan all along. The Krill are 30 minutes away. The Shuttle is cloaked. They change course to meet the Krill ship, which is being tracked. Talla visits Lena, who is eating. Talla notices wounds on her arm and calls for Claire. Lena takes a knife to her throat and tells her to cancel the order. She talks. Talla throws her against the bulkhead. Talla is not human, and is not even the real Lena (she was killed 20 years ago with Sophie). Claire calls for a quarantine around the quarters because her physiology is poisonous to them. Channing is using the poison to destroy the Krill ships. They conclude it is a suicide mission. Channing and "Lena" had teamed up. Channing is filled with hate. Gordon informs the Orville that they are returning. Gordon and Channing fight and Gordon overtakes him. Channing threatens to destroy the shuttle with the poison. Gordon puts on a space suit and exits the shuttle after destroying the com system. The shuttle explodes, sending Gordon hurling through space. Channing was on board. The Orville picks him up with a tractor beam and brings him on board. Ed and the Krill sign a document allowing peace talks to go forward. They all seem optimistic, though the Krill maybe a bit less so. Ed visits Gordon, who is reminiscing about his old friend. Ed admits he may have felt threatened by Gordon's friendship with Channing because he feels he can confide in Gordon. They decide to get a beer and talk about Gordon's old friend. Ted Danson reprises his role as Admiral Perry. Directed by Rebecca Rodriquez. (Aired 3/7/19).

Ildis has to talk with Ed only because Cambis forces him to. Cambis shoots Ed. and prepares to go in for the kill. Alara battles Cambis' wife and shoots her. Ed's gravity field is collapsing. Gordon requests Kelly's permission to take the command training program. Kelly assigns him to a medical and psych evaluation. Bortus is less than optimistic of Gordon's success in the program. The Krill hail the Orville, but it's merely Gordon in command in the simulator. He is failing miserably. Kelly critiques his performance. Mercer is risking his career with this move but, as Kelly tells Gordon: "That's command." They meet the first prefect of the Regorians (Regor 2) and begin to get to know one another. It's Union policy to answer such a question as "Is anyone out there?" Things are going very well. Among the tour is a satellite array, which resembles NASA's ground control. Gordon declares the Orville the "weirdest ship in the fleet." Clair and Isaac go to the Simulator with him simulating to his human form. Directed by Seth McFarlane. (aired 1/31/19).

At dinner, Klyden inquires about seeing Locar that day. Locar shows up and, politely, Klyden asks him to join them for dinner. The next day, the upgrade seems to be complete. crewman Jenny, brings congratulatory cupcakes to them. Dann is enthusiastic about the cupcakes. In the bridge, the upgrade is ready to be tested. The test begins to go badly, but the deflector emitters reset and LaMarr calls the upgrade a success. Locar, who seems to have an affinity for Talla, decides to try a cupcake. Ed visits Kelly in her office and she informs her about her break up with Cassius. Bortus and Talla inform them that the upgrade is ready to be finalized. Ed gives them the go ahead. Talla enters her quarters to find Locar there. He is attracted to her. A few Moclans are "drawn to females," but it is forbidden to discuss those feelings. Talla is surprised and Locar leaves. Ed and Kelly are having dinner together, talking about the break up. The rest of the crew, also in the cafeteria, are talking about relationships. Talla visits Locar. Moclus dating lives are rough. They head to the Simulator; on earth in 1945. They are taking a walk. Talla talks about the program making people feeling closer to their homes. She begins to teach him to dance in the street. Ed wants to put someone else in charge of the investigation, but Talla convinces him to let her handle it. Talla visits Bortus. They argue about the "Moclan way. He dismisses her. In the Simulator, LaMarr and Isaac are working to recover the killer's identity. They do and are shocked to see that it is Klyden. Ed and Kelly discuss the Moclan society. Cassius approaches and he leaves. He plans to leave the ship. Klyden thanks Talla, but she shuns him. She pleads with him, talking of love and that his own prejudice has effectively ended Locar's life. She literally tells him to go to hell. Bortus snears at Klyden when he arrives home. A tribunal is being convened for Locar on Moclus. Talla looks at Moclus from the briefing room, sadly. He hides from two Kaylon in a barrell (of sorts). It's a vertical hatch and, after climbing down to grab the drawing he lost, he hears noises in a corridor and proceeds to investigate. It leads into a rocky cavern. Ed and Kelly feel the Kaylon are stalling on their decision to join the Union. Claire is distraught and they scan for Ty's signal. Bortus finds him, and Talla and Bortus are assigned to reach him, along with Clarie. The meet up with him. He has found "something bad." Talla and Bortus go to check it out. it's a massive cavern of biological skeletal remains. Bortus transmits it to the ship. Kaylon have completely taken over the ship. Ed arrives and orders Bortus to stand down. The Kaylon are headed to Earth to expand their capacity and, effectively, take over the planet, destroying humanity. The weapons which were constricted follow the ship and turn out to be part of the force to destroy Earth. TO BE CONTINUED. Victor Garber reprises his role as Admiral Halsey. Directed by Jon Cassar.
