Calen Campbell is a 5'10, 185-lb. rookie out of Lindenwood University (St. Charles, Missouri) who is averaging 38.5 rushing yards per game with the Storm through his first five games. He also has rushed for eight touchdowns. He also has a 16.6 kickoff return average, returning one of those for a touchdown. He leads the Storm in all-purpose yards with 99.8 per game. He was named the IFL Offensive Player of the Week in week 7 after rushing 16 times for 110 yards and four touchdowns in the Storm's 64-31 win over the Bismarck Bucks. He majored in history at Lindenwood, and hails from Hoover, Alabama.
Campbell answers our questions below.
1. What do you consider to be your greatest achievement in football so far?
State championship MVP in high school.
2. What were your first impressions of the prospect of playing indoor football?
A great opportunity.
3. What was it that made you want to come and try out for the team?
An opportunity to get more film.
4. Who has inspired you most in your football career and in life?
My parents and family. They've supported and loved me.
5. What is your biggest long-term goal for your football career?
Win a Super Bowl.
6. What would you like to accomplish this season?
Lead the league in all-purpose yards. Offensive Rookie of the Year.
7. What are you looking forward to most about the upcoming season?
A United Bowl win.
8. Please describe how important your family has been to you during your football journey?
So, so, so important. They've supported me so much. It's really too much to (answer) here.
9. What is at the heart of your desire to continue your football career?
Reflect Christ and lead people to Him.
10. What would you like IFL fans to know about you?
I'm a hard worker. I love to compete. I'm gonna represent the league and community the best way I can.
