UPDATED 6/26/20 --
Below is the Portland Trail Blazers 2019-20 Season Schedule. On March 11 the NBA announced it would suspend operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Nearly five months later, the league is set to resume with games beginning on July 30. The Blazers begin play in their eight-game stint on July 31.
The Blazers were the ninth seed, 3.5 games back of the eighth seeded Memphis Grizzlies, prior to the suspension of the season. The eight-game schedule is considered a series of seeding games for the 22 teams competing. In the event the eighth seeded team is more than four games ahead of the ninth-seeded team, then that team would earn the eighth spot. Otherwise there would be a play-in game between the eighth and ninth seeds. The top seven teams already qualify for the playoffs. All determinations will be made by utilizing win percentage.
Strict protocols will be in place to protect player and staff safety during the resumption of the season, as well as the goal of taking"collective action to combat systemic racism and promote social justice," according to the NBA.

ORIGINAL SUMMARY --
The 50th regular season of the franchise begins on Oct. 23 at home against the Denver Nuggets, the team which the Blazers defeated in the Western Conference Semifinals in July. The season concludes on April 15 against the re-vamped Los Angeles Clippers. That game also is at home. The pre-season schedule consists of five games, including the Israel team, Maccabi Haifa.
Portland plays four of its first five games -- and 13 of its first 18 games -- on the road. The schedule eventually balances out past the All-Star break. Conversely from the beginning of the season, the Blazers will be at home for four of their last five -- and 10 of its last 17 -- at home.
The longest home stand occurs from March 7-19 with six games. Following that, the Blazers turn around and play six straight road games from March 22-30. They also have a six-game road trip from November 16-25. The Schedule consists of four four-game home stands, as well as a five-game road trip and a four-game road trip. Portland does not play on any national holidays (such as Thanksgiving or Christmas), but it does play the night cap of four nationally televised games on the birthday Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. (January 20). That game is at home against the Golden St. Warriors and will be televised nationally on TNT.
The Blazers face 12 back-to-back games in 2019-20, which is down from 13 which they played last season.
The home/away monthly breakdown is as follows. The number of nationally televised games per month is listed in parenthesis and the number of back-to-back games in that month are followed by a dash.
October - 1 home, 4 away (1) - 1
November - 6 home, 9 away (2) - 3
December - 10 home, 4 away (5) - 2
January - 6 home, 9 away (6) - 1
February - 6 home, 6 away (4) - 2
March - 7 home, 8 away (1) - 3
April - 5 home, 1 away (1) - 0
The Blazers finished the 2018-19 regular season with a record of 53-29, earning them the third seed in the Western Conference Playoffs. They defeated the sixth-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder 4-1, with the final game being decided by Damian Lillard's 37-foot three-pointer as time expired in game five. The went on to face the second-seeded Nuggets in the Western Conference Semifinals. In a see-saw series and with the Blazers down 3-2 in the series, they won game six at home, then came back to win game seven at Denver.
That led Portland to a familiar foe in the top-seeded Golden St. Warriors, who had eliminated the Blazers from the playoffs in two of the three previous years. All four Western Conference Finals games were competitive and the Blazers held double-digit leads in the second halves of games two, three and four, but the Warriors were able to come back in each of them to complete the sweep. Golden St. would go on to lost the NBA Championship to the Toronto Raptors, 4-2.
Though the core of guards Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum remains the same, there have been several roster moves over the summer for the Blazers. With center Jusuf Nurkic rehabilitating a broken leg, the team traded for Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside. They also acquired guard/forward Kent Bazemore from the Atlanta Hawks. Free agent signings include center Pau Gasol, forwards Mario Hezonja and Anthony Tolliver. Returnees to the team from last year's roster are forward/center Zach Collins, center, Skal Labissiere, and guards Rodney Hood, Anfernee Simons and Gary Trent, Jr. The Blazers drafted forward Nassir Little out of North Carolina with the 25th overall selection in the 2019 NBA Draft. Also on the roster is two-way (Blazers/G-League) forward Jaylen Hoard.
Of Blazer players who finished with the team on the 2018-19 roster, but are now with other teams, their return trips to Portland this season are as follows:
Evan Turner (G), Atlanta Hawks - November 10
Al-Farouq Aminu (F), Orlando Magic - December 20
Jake Layman (F), Minnesota Timberwolves - December 21
Seth Curry (G), Dallas Mavericks - January 23
Meyers Leonard (C), Miami Heat - February 9
Enes Kanter (C), Boston Celtics - February 25
Moe Harkless (F), Los Angeles Clippers - April 15

Resumption of Season
Per the Blazers and NBA: If the team with the eighth-best combined winning percentage in a conference (Team 8) is four games or fewer ahead of the team with the ninth-best combined winning percentage in the same conference (Team 9), then those two teams would compete in a play-in tournament to determine the eighth playoff seed in the conference. The play-in tournament will be double elimination for Team 8 and single elimination for Team 9.
The NBA’s standard playoff tiebreaker procedures will be used to break any ties on the basis of winning percentage. Once the 16-team playoff field is set, the NBA Playoffs will proceed in a traditional conference-based format with four rounds and best-of-seven series in each round. The 2020 NBA Finals will end no later than Oct. 13.
