Hej med dig Sports Coast to Coast, I am Spiderfan, your official NFL Analyst and with Week 6 of the National Football League season in the Pro Football Reference catalog, it is time for me to dissect and divulge into the week that was. Let us begin!
Review Everything
The Indoor Football League came up with something that was revolutionary. The idea that any flag could be challenged and thus reviewed. After this week, it became apparent that the National Football League needs to adopt the same rule. If we as viewers (and people in the stands looking at the jumbotron) can see a bad call and come to the conclusion that it should not have happened, why can't the refs? Why can't the Trey Flowers alleged "illegal use of hands" penalty be reviewed? If it had been reviewed, the Lions could have potentially gotten the ball back and beaten the Packers. Instead the Packers kicked the game winning FG. That single bad call changed the impact of the game. That single bad call could change playoff positioning or lack there of. That single bad call should be taken out of the game.
I say that any flag on offense or defense should be available to be challenged by the head coach and inside the last 2 minutes every flag should be reviewed. I don't care if the game gets slowed down, if it means that the correct calls are ultimately called. The Executive VP of Football Ops for the NFL said during Deflategate that the integrity of the game is important. I agree with that statement now more than ever.
ThE CowBOys ARe GoinG to TEh sUPER BowL YALLLLLL......
Let me debunk some of the narratives about the Cowboys, because after the Jets game I think it is appropriate to do so
DaK PREscott Is A frAcHiSE QuartERbAcK
No, he is not. He has no touch on his passes and cannot complete a pass that is not wide open. I don't want to hear about "intangibles" or "he shows up at the facility at 2AM on no hours sleep" because I'll let ya in on a secret: If ya ain't winning NONE OF THAT MATTERS! ESPN Draft Expert Mel Kiper once said during the 2016 draft that Dak would be a good career backup in the NFL. After watching Dak 4 seasons, I agree.
KrIs RIchArD iS a FantasTIC YOUng CooRDInAtOr
May I remind everyone that Kris Richard was fired by the Seattle Seahawks because Pete Caroll didn't think Richard was good enough? I remember. It is clear that the defensive side of the ball for the Cowboys isn't good and that changes of both the coaching and personnel side need to change.
LinColN rILeY IS Going To bE tHE nexT HeAd CoAcH of ThE cOwBoYs
Look, I appreciate that Kellen Moore's doesn't aesthetically suck like his predecessor Scott Linehan's did. That doesn't excuse the fact an Air Raid offense doesn't work when your best player is the running back and the guy throwing the football isn't good enough to run your offense properly. So the idea that Oklahoma HC Lincoln Riley is going to come in and fix things (which is something that has been a talking point around the Cowboys) is absurd because Kellen Moore is already running that style of offense and it isn't working. If Dak is going to stay the QB of the Cowboys, they should run a version of the Ravens offense and run the ball with both Dak and Zeke.

All aboard the Kyle Allen bandwagon
There comes a time in professional football where your time on a team is done. Sometimes because of injury, sometimes because of poor play, sometimes because of a new coach or general manager. Cam Newton's time as the starting quarterback of the Carolina Panthers should be done. That is not to take away from his accomplishments, the man was a MVP and took his team to the Super Bowl. He has been a great face of the franchise, and I will always associate the act of dabbing with Cam Newton.
Kyle Allen has finally lived up the high billing he got out of high school. He may not put up elite numbers, but this Panthers team is hot right now and the idea of taking Allen right now is asinine. The whole team has rallied around him and is playing way better than they were when they started the season. Allen has earned the job and I think the Panthers are better off for it mainly because I think Cam is now past his prime. Remember how Cam kept trying to throw picks against the Bucs on TNF? That ain't cause of his foot. That is because his shoulder is quite possibly ruined. Kyle Allen is younger, his shoulder isn't ruined, and may I remind everyone that he is undefeated as a starter and hasn't thrown an INT? I'm on the Kyle Allen bandwagon and you should be too.
Zone Coverage
-I'm supposed to give Kirk Cousins and the Vikings credit for winning a game against a mediocre Eagles team on regional TV? Yeah, I'm not going to do that.
-The Chiefs defense is somehow worse than last year.
-Minshew Mania is not looking good right now
-Is it just me or am I the only one irritated that people are just now realizing that Russell Wilson is one of the best QBs in the NFL?
-The Titans are a mess.
-I know for a fact that if the Chargers played that game against the Steelers at the Alamodome and that the stadium would be nothing but powder blue.
-Watch out NFL, the Cardinals are starting to click.
ROAD TO 0-16
This is the segment I do, celebrating the very worst the NFL has to offer. After week 6 the 0-for teams are:
Miami Dolphins
Cincinnati Bengals
Who wants the number 1 pick? Not the Washington Redskins! New HC Bill Callahan had his guys playing hard and because of that they had a pretty good looking victory until:
That is right, Ryan Fitzpatrick made his return as the QB of the Dolphins after Dolphins HC Brian Flores decided that he had enough of Josh Rosen's suckage. Seriously, if there was ever a game to prove Rosen's doubters wrong (of which I am one) it would have been against the Redskins. Not only did he not prove doubters wrong, Rosen actually confirmed on Sunday that he is a bust. If after being given the starting job, the coach saying that this season is your season to prove that you can be the QB of the future, and playing against what is arguably your most easy opponent on the schedule and you suck? You are a bust.
As for Fitzpatrick, he does what Fitzmagic does and puts his team in position to win... however Brian Flores in the most blatant "Hey everyone we are tanking and want Tua or Jalen Hurts or Joe Burrow" move ever decides to go for 2 instead of taking the game into overtime. Why early in the season would one not go into overtime and put your team in better position to win? Because they don't want to win. Thus the Redskins were given the victory and the Dolphins stay 0-for on the season.
Even still because of Fitzpatrick, I say that the Dolphins are IMO not the team most likely to go 0-16. As of today that would be the Cincinnati Bengals.
ROAD TO 16-0
This is the segment I do, celebrating the very best the NFL has to offer. After week 6 the undefeated teams are:
New England Patriots
San Francisco 49ers
Are the 49ers Super Bowl contenders? I'm not sure yet. Here in a couple weeks they start to play some good teams and that will show just how good the 49ers are. As of right now they are pretty good. As for the Patriots, they just continue to show their greatness. Because of they are the team that is IMO most likely to go 16-0.
And that is all for my Web of Football column this week. As always, I hope ya enjoyed and I hope to see ya again next week. This is spiderfan out.
