Overview
The following is the 2020 schedule for Spokane Shock.
Spokane is back and hoping to shock the Indoor Football League as they make their return. Former Seattle Seahawk Sam Adams has brought the Shock back to Spokane after a multi-year hiatus. The Shock competed in af2 from 2006 to 2009, then became a member of the Arena Football League from 2010 to 2015 before moving to the IFL in 2016 and re-branding as the Spokane Empire for their only two seasons in the IFL. They have had a flurry of signings, most stemming from players of the National Arena League. Their coach, Billy Back, comes over from the Carolina Cobras of the NAL, which won the championship in 2018.
The Shock return in 2020 with a pair of bye weeks to start the season. They visit the Bismarck Bucks to open the season in Week 3; March 22 to be specific. Their home opener comes just four days later, a Thursday evening match up with the San Diego Strike Force. The Shock play mostly an even schedule. They have a pair of home-and-homes and once play two straight on the road, including their first ever trip to visit the Quad City Steamwheelers (dating back to their af2 days against the original Steamwheelers franchise). They conclude the season in Week 17 as they visit the San Diego Strike Force. The Shock do not play the Cedar Rapids River Kings, Duke City Gladiators, Green Bay Blizzard nor Iowa Barnstormers this season.
Each IFL team plays 14 games (seven home and seven away), and has three bye weeks. The Shock have byes in Weeks 1, 2 and 8. They play their home games at Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena in Spokane, Washington. Back, who last coached in the IFL with the Wichita Falls Nighthawks in 2017, has been hired as the team's head head coach.
All Shock games will be broadcast locally on the radio and will be available for streaming through those stations. SCtoC will provide links in its previews of the games, as well as recaps of each IFL game. Broadcast information for each game is forthcoming and will be updated on this page when available.
Below is the Shock 2020 schedule. Home games are noted in bold orange. Times and dates are subject to change. All times are pacific. Click on the final score for the boxscore and Recap for SCtoC's original recap of this game.
