I thought we could share some things here about our quarantines, stay at home or other activities during the coronavirus epidemic (hint: I know of at least three people here who are still going into work every day).
I'll start:
I'm working part time in one of our family's company's warehouses putting together some safety equipment orders for some of our clients who are still working. Most at this point are construction company's. I'm one of two people in this particular facility as we have our purchasing agent in the front office. His and my desks are in separate offices, so we're actively practicing social distancing. As for our orders, they are all will call. The company shows up, signs the paperwork on a podium-type desk I placed outside along with their order, which they load in their vehicle. If it requires a forklift, I load it in their truck or van for them while they come no closer than the driver's door. I have an N95 mask (which we sell in small quantities) and nitrile gloves, and we have gloves for our clients as well.
When I'm not working, Monika, Keith and I are at home cleaning and virus protecting our house multiple times during the day. We're also washing our laundry such as sheets and other bedding daily. We're all healthy and young, but our parents are in their late 50s. While they're healthy, they are probably more at risk because of their ages, so the three of us have taken it upon ourselves to lower the overall risk in the household as much as possible. I really hope it's working. I'm cautiously optimistic about that.

I'm finishing the school year with online assignments from my teachers with a little added homeschooling from my mom. I call that extra credit. It also gives me some time during the day to hang out with her. Last week when it was nice outside we would do some of the work out on our deck in the back yard. The governor's order only said to stay at home. She didn't necessarily say we had to stay inside. Other than that, we are watching movies at home and things like that. There's also a lot of video chatting with my grandparents, cousins and friends. Like Angi said, we are maintaining the house as best we can on a daily basis.

I've been working quite a bit for the past six weeks or so. Most of that has been filling in when it comes to non COVID-19 injuries and conditions. As you may imagine, with fewer people on the roads and out and about, there are fewer accidents with which to deal. That is, in it's own way, a positive during this pandemic. It gives healthcare workers a bit more time to work with patients with the virus. Four of our staff have tested positive for the virus. One doctor, two nurses and a physician's assistant. as a neurology resident, I am about to begin seeing some virus patients but, for the most part, will be at a distance as I evaluate test results and try to help combat some symptoms affecting a patient's brain. It's not common, but the hospital for which I work is introducing a new protocol which will require each patient to be evaluated for what we are calling potential brain ailments. The New York Times actually had a short piece on this the other day. You might find this link interesting: COVID-19 Brain Ailments.
While I've not been on the front lines so to speak, I want to thank everyone for supporting healthcare workers during this time. It means a lot that such amazing professionals, my colleagues, are being recognized as heroes. These are people who work in the trenches daily, putting themselves at risk, who deserve credit and praise every day of the year. Also, anyone who is at home making masks and mask covers and so forth, you are amazing too. As long as these are made correctly, they can be affected. We can't rely on the federal government to step up at this time (due to a clear lack of leadership at the top), and our state's resources are limited. If you are contributing to the making of these items and/or making them yourselves, you are heroes as well. Thank you.
Personally, Scott and I were planning the wedding for September, but we have postponed it one year until this is all over. As unfortunate as it is to postpone, I refuse to let COVID-19 deprive me of my huge wedding (take THAT you coronavirus bitch!)! My family is safe. My parents and Jackson (my kid bro) are not sick and are quarantined at home. When I'm not working, I'm at home at my apartment in L.A. Like Monika said above, I have been video chatting with several people when i can, including Kasey at least a couple times a week.
That's about it for a brief update. I hope you all are safe and being responsible. Take care of yourselves and each other.
- Julie

Thanks for the update, Julie. Glad to hear everyone is safe. I know you're on the front lines, so you stay safe too!

My turn. Other than a couple trips to the grocery store and a dental appointment, I've been at home the past month. My job entails a lot of research and phone communication so working from home has been easy. I have a little deck outside. I'm on the fourth floor so it's easy to spend some time out there. Mostly, I'm reading, listening to music and catching up on some shows with Netflix or Hulu.

Not much has changed since I first answered this, but with school canceled for the rest of the year, I'm pretty much being strictly homeschooled by my mom at this point. It's going well. Neither of us have gone crazy yet!
