The following is the complete revised 2020 Regular Season schedule for the Seattle Storm.

The reduced 22-game schedule comes as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has wrecked havoc among major North American sports leagues, including the WNBA. The original WNBA Schedule was to include an expansion of 36 total games (18 home, 18 away); the increase in two games was to be the first schedule increase since the league went from 32 games to 34 back in 2003. The Storm are entering their 21st Season as members of the WNBA. The Storm play in the Western Conference, along with the Dallas Wings, Los Angeles Sparks, Minnesota Lynx, Las Vegas Aces, and the Phoenix Mercury.

Much like their men's counterparts in the NBA, the WNBA will be playing in a "Bubble City" (or as the players have referred to it, the "Wubble") at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida (about 45 miles south of Tampa, FL). The Sports Academy, a boarding school dedicated to student-athletes Grades 6-12 and Post-Grads, will serve as a Bubble City to try and prevent/contain the outbreak of COVID-19 among WNBA players, coaches, and staff.

All 12 franchises will play their 22-game schedule at the IMG Academy, which contains a Fieldhouse that contains two basketball courts. The daily play schedule will consist of three games each day, beginning Saturday, July 25th through Tuesday, September 8th, followed by the WNBA Playoffs.

Seattle's third-year head coach, Dan Hughes, will miss the 2020 season. Hughes, 65, battled cancer last season, and will not coach after it was determined he could be at a higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19. Assistant Head Coach Gary Kloppenburg will take the reigns for the 2020 season, having filled in for Hughes last season as he missed time due to recovery from cancer surgery. Kloppenberg was also named the interim Head Coach in 2017, taking over for Jenny Boucek late in the campaign. Under Kloppenburg, the Storm went 5-3 and a playoff appearance.

Hughes is expected to return in 2021. In his two seasons as Head Coach of the Storm, the team has gone 44-24 during his regular season tenure, along with a WNBA Championship in 2018. His 44 regular season wins are the 3rd most wins in Storm team history behind Anne Donovan (93 wins) and Brian Agler (136 wins)

Meanwhile, on the court, the Storm look to rebound in 2020 after a disastrous start to the 2019 season after losing its top two stars to injury for the entire season. Forward Breanna Stewart, the 2018 WNBA MVP, ruptured her Achilles tendon while playing overseas, while future Hall of Fame guard Sue Bird sat out after undergoing arthroscopic surgery in her knee. Both should make much needed contributions to a Storm team that fought every step of the way to finish the season at 18-16, finishing the season at 3rd in the Western Conference. The Storm made the playoffs as the #6 seed, defeating Minnesota in the First Round of the Playoffs before falling to Los Angeles in the Second Round.

Seattle will tip-off their season on July 25th against the New York Liberty.

Monthly Update: Things started well for the Seattle Storm for an unusual 2020 season in the "Wubble." With the return of stars Breanna Stewart and Sue Bird, both of whom missed 2019 with injury, the Storm jumped out to a 2-0 record within the first week of play. Seattle ended the July slate of games with a poor loss to the Washington Mystics, but enter August with a record of 2-1.

Entering August, the Storm are tied with Minnesota and Los Angeles for 1st in the Western Conference, and rank 3rd overall in the league standings behind Washington (3-0) and Atlanta (2-1).

Monthly Update: After a 2-1 start to the beginning of the shortened 2020 WNBA Season in the "Wubble," the Storm surged to the top of the league standings due in part to a nine-game winning streak. During the streak, Seattle scored 100 points twice; the first, a 100-63 thumping of the Atlanta Dream (3-13), followed up three games later with a season high 105 points in a 105-64 victory over the lowly New York Liberty (2-13).

Seattle saw their win streak snap at the hands of the Indiana Fever. After back-to-back losses to the Fever and the Las Vegas Aces, Seattle rebounded with two straight wins to cap off a very successful month of August, going 11-2 and accumulating an overall record of 13-3 with six games left to go in the regular season.

The Storm also became one of the first WNBA teams to clinch a berth in the 2020 WNBA Playoffs, along with the Aces and the Los Angeles Sparks. The playoff clinching win over the Chicago Sky on August 29th made it the 16th time in 21 Seasons that Seattle has made it to the postseason.

Entering September, the Storm are half a game ahead of Las Vegas (12-3) and the Los Angles Sparks (12-3) for 1st in the Western Conference. The Storm's 13-3 record is puts them 1st overall in the league standings, just a half game ahead of Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Minnesota Lynx (10-5) and the Eastern Conference leading Chicago Sky (10-6).

Monthly Update: Seattle's winning ways continued during the final two weeks of the 2020 WNBA Season. Already riding a 2-game win streak from the end of August, the Storm won the 5 of their final 6 games. Their 7-game winning stream was snapped at the hands of the Las Vegas Aces in the final game, which was rescheduled from August 27th due to the WNBA's protest in light of the shooting of Jacob Blake.

The Storm finish the 2020 season with an 18-4 record and a 5-1 mark in September. Due to two of the Storm's losses to the Aces, who finished with an identical 18-4 record, Las Vegas won the tie-breaker, resulting in Seattle finishing as the #2 overall in the league and Western Conference standings.

As a result of clinching one of the Top 2 seeds in the overall WNBA Standings, Seattle will have the double bye in the first two rounds of the WNBA Playoffs. The WNBA's First and Second Rounds are single elimination games between the bottom four seeds (#5 Phoenix, #6 Chicago, #7 Connecticut, #8 Washington). The winners of the first round games will be re-seeded for the second round single elimination games, in which the lower seeds remaining face off against #3 Los Angeles and the higher seed taking on #4 Minnesota. The winners of the second round will advance to take on either #1 Las Vegas or #2 Seattle.

Seattle's Sue Bird and Brianna Stewart missed the final two games of the regular season. The double bye should see both Bird and Stewart return to the lineup in time for their Best-of-Five Semifinal match-up.

Seattle will take on the Minnesota Lynx in the Semifinals. It'll be a Best-of-Five series.

The Storm went 2-0 against the Lynx in 2020.

This will be the fifth time Minnesota and Seattle have squared off in the playoffs. The two met in last year's First Round, single elimination game in which Seattle won 84-74 at Angel of the Winds Arena (Everet, WA).

When it comes to playoff series, Minnesota holds the edge 2-1. Seattle defeated Minnesota 2 games to 0 in the 2004 Western Conference Semifinals, while Minnesota won 2-1 and 2-0 in the 2012 and 2013 Western Conference Semifinals.

The winner will take on the winner of Connecticut/Las Vegas.

The Storm went 0-2 against the Aces in 2020.

This is the first ever postseason meeting between Seattle and the Las Vegas franchise. This also includes when the Aces were the Utah Starzz (1997-2002) and the San Antonio Silver Stars/San Antonio Stars (2003-2017).
