Beakdown
XTREME OVERVIEW
Louisville will look to rebound from their season-opening loss to the Massachusetts Pirates. The Xtreme had a slow start in the game, including four fumbles in the opening quarter. The offense looked good at times, but was stopped on downs several times during the contest. Defensively, the same could be said, namely in the first half when they held the Pirates to 21 points. It should help that the Xtreme are coming off a week 2 bye as they try to get on track. Bryan Hicks leads the offense, throwing for 91 yards and a touchdown. Quan Shorts broke out as the team's top receiver in the contest, though Johnathan Jones and Edgar Poe should see some targets in this one. Kendall Brown is the featured running back. Gerod Holliman let the defense with a pass break up to go along with with his team-high six tackles. London Iakopo and Jay'Shawn Washington also formidable defenders for the Xtreme. Kyree McLean had the teams lone interception, while Maurice Fleming broke up three passes.
XTREME PLAYERS TO WATCH
Passing: Bryan Hicks 15/24, 91 yds, TD.
Rushing: Kendall Brown 3 rush, 25 yds.
Receiving: Quan Shorts 6 rec, 62 yds, TD.
Total Tackles: Gerod Holliman 6.
Sacks: none.
Interceptions: Kyree McLean 1.
Kicking: Derek Vacha 0/2 XP; 0/2 FG.
BLIZZARD OVERVIEW
The contrast of Green Bay's first two games of the season are clear. After losing to the Bismarck Bucks in the season opener on a last-minute touchdown, they returned the favor at the hands of the Massachusetts Pirates in week 2. Damion May's scrambled left and fired a deep pass to a leaping Kezlow Smith, who curled around to his right and raced into the end zone for the game-winning score. The win was the Blizzard's first in 687 days. Aaron Aiken started the first two games for Green Bay with some success, though May took over in the second half against the Pirates and completed the victory. Smith and Taylor are a formidable wide receiver duo, which is even enhanced with the addition of veteran Eric Thomas, Jr. On the defensive side of the ball, Corey Turner, Momodou Mye and Malike Reeves are forces to be reckoned with for the defense. Additionally Mason Gray had both of of his interceptions in the season opener, and Dajon Emery and Adawale Adeoye have each recorded a sack through the first two games.
