Breakdown
WRANGLERS
The Wranglers had a tough outing at home in the season opener. Then again, they were matched against the perennial IFL powerhouse Arizona Rattlers. The Rattlers went up 21-0 in the opening quarter and the Wranglers were unable to recover, falling 51-20. Verlon Reed, Jr. got the start at quarterback for the Wranglers and put them on the board three minutes into the second quarter with a touchdown toss to Marquian Johnson, but they trailed 44-7 at halftime. The defense actually stepped up in the second half, holding the Rattlers to just a touchdown in the second half. Caden Walters took over for Reed in the second half. Walters scored on a long touchdown run in the third quarter. Then, in the fourth quarter, he hit Terrence Bynum on a three-yard touchdown pass. It's unsure what Reed's status is as it was reported that he suffered some undisclosed injury in the game, which could mean Walters will get the start in this game. Emmanuel Lacey picked off a pass for the Wranglers defense.
BUCKS
Bismarck has already equaled their win total from 2019; in just their first three games. At 2-1, the Bucks are optimistic they can earn one of the IFL's eight playoff spots. Of course, Rod Miller's team still have 13 games left on the schedule and will look to improve to 3-1 on the young season with a win over the Wranglers. Glen Cuiellette and Richard Stammetti have each seen action at quarterback in all three of the Bucks' games. Cuiellette has gotten the start in the past two games and is completing 56 percent of his passes for 245 yards with five touchdowns and an interception. Look for him to get the start with Stammetti waiting in the wings. Justin Rankin is rushing for 45.3 yards per game and three touchdowns. Rankin also has 10 catches for 52 yards. Raheem Harvey Leads the team with 13 receptions for 220 yards and three scores. Dillon Salva has 15 tackles, an interception and three pass break ups. Deion Carter comes in with 13 tackles and six break ups, and Da'Von Keith has 1.5 sacks.
