Breakdown
BARNSTORMERS
Iowa has won four of their last five, including completing a season sweep of the Sioux Falls Storm with a 57-47 win last week. The Barnstormers seem to be back on track after their 53-22 loss to the Bismarck Bucks in week 8. They match up against a Blizzard team which has teetered around .500 for much of the season. A win puts the Barnstormers at 5-2 halfway through their schedule. As quarterback Daquan Neal goes, so does the Barnstormers' offense. The 2019 IFL Offensive Player of the Year has completed just over 50 percent of his passes for 933 yards with 17 touchdowns and just one interception. He also comes in with 54.3 yards on the ground with nine scores. Elad Covaliu compliments Neal in the rushing game with 42.6 yards per game and five touchdowns Covaliu is also frequently utilized as a receiver for the Barnstormers. Connor Hollenbeck and Carrigan Thompson each come in with 13 receptions for 204 and 203 yards, respectively. The duo have combined for eight touchdown grabs on the season. Tony Jones leads the defense with 39 tackles, 6 for loss and 1.5 sacks. David Haney has a pair of interceptions for Iowa.
BLIZZARD
Green Bay has had an up-and-down season in 2021. The Blizzard are 3-4 with three of those losses coming against the Bismarck Bucks. It remains to be seen whether the Bucks are their Achilles heel or whether they can put together a string of victories to be competitive in the playoff race. This is their second-to-last home game of the season. They host the Sioux Falls Storm next week before finishing out the season with five straight on the road. Damion May is the starter at quarterback. He has completed 59 percent of his throws with 17 touchdowns and an interception. Brook Bolles got his first action of the season last week and was impressive, completing four of five passes for 67 yards and two scores. Kerrion Moore comes in with 37.4 rushing yards per game and five touchdowns. Moore is also formidable as a receiver out the backfield. The Blizzard have a four-man receiving group of Kezlow Smith, Keshaun Taylor, Eric Thomas Jr. and Treveon Sanders. Thomas leads the group with seven scoring snatches. Momodu Mbye and Corey Turner lead the defense with 43 and 43 tackles, respectively. Mbye has a pair of interceptions and Mason Gray has three.
