Breakdown
FIGHTERS
Frisco is back on track after dropping their first game of the season two weeks ago. The Fighters outscored the Iowa Barnstormers 19-7 in the fourth quarter last week to move to 6-1 on the season with a 42-35 win at home. The Fighters are just a half game back of the Arizona Rattlers in the IFL standings. They face a Bucks team this week which has had some ups and downs, but certainly is capable of pulling off an upset. Jonathan Bane has started all of the Fighters' seven games. He's completing 61 percent of his passes for 879 yards with 18 touchdowns and just one interception. Demarcus Felton, one of the IFL's best rushers, averages 41.3 yards per game and is tied for second in the league with 13 touchdowns. Lance Evans leads the team in receiving, but recently signed Marques Rodgers has become a favorite of Bane the past three weeks. Mark Munson should also see some targets. Khalil Williams leads the team in tackles with 30 tackles. Charles Williams leads the league with 6.5 sacks, and Joel Dullary has a pair of sacks.
BUCKS
Bismarck has been impressive at times this season, but seemed to have found their Achilles heel in the Sioux Falls Storm. The Bucks have lost to the Storm twice by an average of 30.5 points per game in two contests. They fought hard to come back in their loss last week to the Massachusetts Pirates, but still came up short. The Bucks want to get back on the winning side of things as they host the Fighters. The Bucks have changed their quarterback structure. They brought in IFL veteran Caleb Lewis and rookie Kelly Bryant. Lewis is more of a passer, while Bryant gives the team a boost in the running and option game. Head coach Rod Miller will likely alternate them as he did against the Pirates. Justin Rankin comes in with 34.7 yards and seven rushing touchdowns. J.T. Stokes leads the team with 26 catches for 445 yards and a dozen scores. Mike Carrigan and Raheem Harvey will get targets in this one. Darreon Jackson and Deion Carter have 47 and 43 tackles, respectively, while Da'Von Keith comes in with 3.5 sacks for the defense.
