Breakdown
RATTLERS
Arizona has won six straight and is looking to make it seven. The Rattlers' convincing 43-point win over the expansion Northern Arizona Wranglers was a statement that they intend to regain their 2017 IFL championship form. They face a red hot Pirates team which has won three straight. The Rattlers are used to being atop the IFL standings and that's where they find themselves after eight games. Following this road trip, they play four of their last five games at home. Drew Powell is consistently solid in the passing game and even better on the ground. He leads the league with a 62.8 percent completion percentage and has 17 touchdowns and six picks. He also leads the league in rushing at 63.1 yards per game and 16 touchdowns. Nick LaSane and Darrell Monroe are the featured running backs for the Rattlers. Jarrod Harrington and Jamal Miles are the top receivers with seven and four touchdown grabs, respectively. Devin Cockrell leads the Rattlers with 39 tackles and Dillon Winfrey has 35. Nikolas D'Avanzo leads the league with five sacks.
PIRATES
Massachusetts is making it's mark on defense as it is allowing a league-low 32.7 points per game. The Pirates are going to have to rely on that defense to slow down the Rattlers. They were successful in that as they dealt the Frisco Fighters their first defeat two weeks ago. They've won three straight; with the last two being against teams in playoff position. In this early Sunday matchup, they could knock off another of the IFL's top teams. Alejandro Bennifield is at the helm for the Pirates and has led them throughout most of the season. He is completing 54 percent of his passes for 1,199 yards with 26 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He also has rushed for 11 touchdowns. Justin Stockton averages 43 rushing yards along with three touchdowns on the ground. Thomas Owens is the IFL's top receiver at 72.4 yards per game with 15 touchdowns. Also look for Laquvionte Gonzalez in the passing game. Santos Ramirez leads the defense with 48 tackles. Da'Shawn Downey has 2.5 sacks, and Aarion Maxey-Penton comes in with three interceptions.
