Breakdown
BLIZZARD
Green Bay is teetering on the edge of a playoff spot. The Blizzard are currently in eighth place in the IFL standings at 5-6 with the 4-5 Iowa Barnstormers nipping at their heels. The Blizzard need to put together a couple wins to solidify their playoff run. That starts with these Pirates, but it won't be an easy task as the Pirates are in third place with an opportunity to moved up themselves. All three of the Blizzard's remaining games are against the top three teams in the standings heading into week 16. Brook Bolles has been at the helm of the Blizzard for several weeks now. He is completing 50 percent of his passes for 869 yards with 17 touchdowns and just a single interception. Kerrion Moore is the team's lead back with a team-leading seven touchdowns. Keshaun Taylor leads the team in receiving with 424 yards along with eight touchdowns. Kezlow Smith leads the Blizzard with 12 scores. The Blizzard are known for their defense, with Momodu Mbye, Diondre Wallace, Bakari Triggs and Malik Reaves each recording 73 or more tackles. Reaves and Triggs have seven and five interceptions, respectively.
PIRATES
Massachusetts is literally the hottest team in the IFL. The Pirates have reeled off five straight wins and have won six of their last seven. While they have clinched a playoff berth, the Pirates are in third place. Should they win their remaining three games, including this one, they can easily earn the second seed. The Arizona Rattlers (9-2) and Frisco Fighters (8-2) play one another in the season finale. One will lose. If the other should lose along the way and the Pirates win out, they would earn the top seed. Alejandro Bennifield has been outstanding during the Pirates' stretch run. He comes in completing 55 percent of his passes for 1,515 yards. He is second in the league with 34 touchdowns with just five interceptions. He also has 14 rushing touchdowns to his credit. Thomas Owens is the IFL's top receiver, having caught 53 balls for 741 yards and 18 touchdowns. The Pirates defense is allowing a league-best 35.9 points per game. Santos Ramirez has 62 tackles to lead the group, and Harlan Miller leads the team with four interceptions. Martrell Spaight is a playmaker who comes in with 44 tackles and 2.5 sacks in six games.
