2021 Head to Head
May 15 - Barnstormers 56, Storm 36.
June 19 - Barnstormers 57, Storm 47.
The Storm scored quickly on their first possession courtesy of Brandon Sheperd's 14-yard end around to the right side. The Barnstormers responded with an eight-yard pass from Daquan Neal to Carrington Thompson, Sr. midway through the opening quarter to knot the game at 7-7. Nate Chavioous' one-yard run put the Storm back up by a touchdown before Neal rushed in from 13 yards to tie the game once again. Neal was intercepted by Trey Wafford on the next drive and the Storm made them pay with a 12-yard touchdown run from Chavious to go up by two touchdowns. Daylon Person's seven-yard pass from Neal cut into the deficit, but the Storm answered on a touchdown pass from Brown to Chavious. Sioux Falls went up 42-21 with 45 seconds left in the second and led by that score at the break.
The second half was all Barnstormers. They scored on a five-yard touchdown run from Neal and, after a missed 39-yard field goal from the Storm's Parker Douglass, cut the deficit to 42-35 courtesy a touchdown run from Elad Covaliu with 25 seconds remaining in the third.
Brown scored on a four-yard run early in the fourth quarter to put the Storm back up by two touchdowns. Neal found Ju'an Williams open in the middle of the end zone for a nine-yard touchdown. After Iowa's recovery of a Sioux Falls fumble, Neal rushed for a two-yard touchdown with 2:11 left to tie the game at 49-49. A string of missed field goals led to the end of regulation.
