FRISCO, TX - Demarcus Felton rushed for 64 yards and a pair of touchdowns as the Frisco Fighters turned away the Spokane Shock, 44-33, tonight at Comercia Center in the First Round of the Indoor Football League playoffs.
The win sets up Frisco for a semifinal matchup next week with an opponent and location to be determined pending the result of the Sioux Falls Storm's First Round game against the Arizona Rattlers on August 29. If the Rattlers win, the Fighters will visit the Massachusetts Pirates on September 4 at 4:05 p.m. (pacific). If the Storm win, the Fighters will host the Duke City Gladiators next week.
It was the Fighters' third win over the Shock this season.

The Shock struck first with a two-yard run from Davonte Sapp-Lynch. It was the only score of the opening quarter, giving the Shock a 6-0 lead
Frisco got on the board with a 35-yard field goal from Kristov Martinez. The Fighters took the lead with four seconds remaining in the first half on Marques Rodgers' six-yard run. The Fighters led 10-6 at the half.
Spokane tied the game at 13-13 on a 30-yard pass from Charles McCullum to Sapp-Lynch. Frisco answered on a one-yard run from Felton and the Fighters led 20-13 at the end of three.
The fourth quarter was a wild one. Manny Arceneaux's two-yard run early in the fourth extended the Fighters' lead to 27-13 early in the fourth, but Sapp-Lynch countered for the Shock with a give-yard run of is own. Arceneaux scored on another two-yard run. The Shock added a score on a 43-yard bomb from McCullum to Jordan Jolly and the Fighters' led was back to a single touchdown. Frisco went up by 10 with 4:38 left with a Martinez's 24-yard touchdown. McCullum scored on a one-yard plunge, but Sapp-Lynch's two-point conversion run failed, leaving the Shock down by four with 1:07 left. Frisco controlled the clock in the final minute and iced the win with a two-yard run from Felton.
Malik Henry went 10 of 22 for 99 yards with an interception. Felton's 64 yards and two scores came off 18 carries. Wide receivers Arceneaux and Rodgers combined for three rushing touchdowns. Sir'vell Ford and Charles Williams each had six tackles for the Fighters defense.
McCullum finished 10 of 18 for 199 yards with two touchdowns, and Sapp-Lynch added 44 yards to his two rushing touchdowns and another score through the air. Jolly caught four passes for 94 yards and a touchdown. Cedric Poole led the Shock defense with eight touchdowns and Mike Green had an interception.
