Overview
From uncertainty to trepidation and to taking the field, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has scheduled its 2021-22 bowl season.
The NCAA bounced back from a lackluster 2020 season in which schedules were abbreviated and which did not seem like a complete nationwide season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, college football seemed to present much more parity than in previous years. The Playoff Selection Committee will fill four bowl games and place four other teams in the NCAA National Championship semifinals in the Cotton and Orange Bowls. Other bowl games are set to match up teams in conferences against one another and still other participants are selected by the individual bowl administrators.
In the FBS Playoff of four teams, the top-seed Alabama Crimson Tide and fourth-seed Cincinnati Bearcats will face off in one semifinal, while second seed Michigan Wolverines will face third-seed Georgia Bulldogs. Both games will take place on New Year's Eve. The winners will meet for the national championship on January 10. Last season, the Alabama Crimson Tide defeated the Ohio St. Buckeyes, 52-24, in the National Championship Game.
SCtoC has your complete bowl schedule. We have listed the bowls, participants, dates and times, locations and national broadcast information. Individual teams will be added to each game when they are announced.. Once available, we will add the final top 25 rankings heading into the bowl season. Unlike last bowl season, stadiums will feature fans filled in the stands who will be required to observe COVID-19 safety protocols.
Note: Some game matchups have yet to be determined. All games are subject to cancellation or alteration. Those matchups will be added once they are determined. All of the bowl games have been listed.
All times are pacific time. Once games are complete, click the links of each result to go to the official boxscore of that game. Team records for completed games include the teams' records for that game. Results will be updated daily.
