We're just hours away from the premiere! I can't wait! I know you're going to watch it when it comes out in less than an hour now. You're clinically insane and awesome! I'll watch the first episode or two and then go to bed and watch the rest later on. This looks like it's going to be so good!

I didn't plan on this, but a short impression of episode 1:
It set up things well and creates some immediate relationships with her roommate and Tyler, a diner worker in the nearby town of Jericho. It's been an interesting time getting to know these characters. The monster near Nevermore has arrived?

Short impression of episode 2:
Continues the story and sets up the rivalry between Wednesday and Bianca. Also, great scene with Enid telling Wednesday to apologize to Thing. Not sure that Weems is who she says she is, or if there is an imposter posing as her. Already, a love triangle has begun to emerge between Wednesday, Tyler and Xavier. Rowan had tried to kill Wednesday, but he is back and expelled.
Edit: Enid knows about Thing and it responds to her is a huge bonus. Wednesday is on to something.
These performances are killing me and, in Wednesday fashion, in a good way. Jenna's performance is so deadpan, but with snippets of joy. She seems to be warming up a tad to Enid. Emma Myers is killing it as Enid!

Short Impression of episode 3:
The Harvest Festival was fun and quirky a little. We're still getting to know the characters, but it's clear that there are at least two boys are interested in Wednesday (romantically?). Tyler seems to be the early frontrunner, but Xavier is not too far behind. Eugene, who really has no chance, is fun in the episode and you see our lead treat him with some compassion; especially since she equates him similarly to her brother (though she has no interest in doing him harm). Xavier seems to show up at inconvenient times.
Wednesday's vision from 400 years ago shows her that the town of Jericho's founder, Joseph Crackstone, attacking her ancestor, Goody Addams (also played by Jenna Ortega). Goody gets away, but many of the colonists' outcasts are burned alive. Crackstone wanted to get rid of all outcasts. Nice extended conversation between Wednesday and Xavier before we're back at the festival where she is accompanying the Jericho High School marching band in a musical number the towns tribute, an honor to Crackstone, is destroyed as Wednesday plays her solo (Think is clearly involved, however). Weems scolds Wednesday, though the latter challenges her regarding the truth.
Enid gets a date with Ajax, who had not figured out the signals she had been giving him during the day. Ajax is a Gorgon, who can turn someone to stone, temporarily. He accidentally sees himself in the mirror and turns to stone, missing their date. Enid screams in anger at this. Weems tears the picture of Morticia, her rival as a student at Nevermore, out of her yearbook at throws it into the fireplace. A cello plays as Wednesday narrates about monsters being everywhere.
Fun episode with a lot of backstory and set up. We also see the first pictures of the monster, courtesy of Sheriff Galpin and Officer Santiago. The backstory is the key in this episode.

Short Impression of Episode 4:
She can perform autopsies (not surprised)! Enid freaked out by Wednesday's murder board and collapses. Thing is there with smelling Salts. Fun class dynamic with Wednesday and Bianca, as well as with Ms. Thornhill and Xavier. Big dance coming up. Wednesday gets some offers. Cute, but one comes with suspicion on her part.
The Raven, the big dance of the semester. Loved Wednesday's dance. Jenna said she basically did the choreography to it. Nice work. Eugene should not have gone to the cave alone. I love this character. He may be the most genuine of all the characters in the show. Tragidy, predictably will fall upon him. The triangle between Wednesday, Tyler and Xavier is intriguing here. Though she will never outwardly show it, it confuses her. Enid's date (and later his friends), go rogue. I didn't much care for that subplot, though it is ... splattering. As a side note, exes Xavier and Bianca attending was sad and uncomfortable, and not in a good way.
Xavier doesn't like Tyler for a former reason. Enid is a pro hockey fan (well, she is the cheerleader type!). Interesting conversation between Wednesday and Bianca in the powder room at the dance. Great scene of acknowledging the growing love between Enid and Ajax. The town bullies, including the mayor's son, play a bloody prank and ... poor Eugene. I like that character.

Short Impression of Episode 5:
Parents Weekend. Sheriff Galpin sees an opportunity to make a request for a past crime. Eugene is in a coma. Wednesday and Enid complain about their parents' impressions of them. I loved how they separated to go to their respective families. Xavier and Bianca still have a connection, but it seems more like friendship now. Great interaction between Morticia and Weems. Very humorous. Weems is critical of Wednesday acclimating too slowly to Nevermore. The family therapy is weird, and Pugsley is the most forthcoming. He misses his sister. This dude playing Pugsley does not have many scenes, but he is awesome; I mean, he snacks on potpourri! Wednesday exposes her father and that's where the episode takes off.
The parents-children scenes are dynamic. Enid's mom is a B----. So is Bianca's mom. I love that, after being prompted, Wednesday's hospital to meet her "friend" Eugene, who is in a coma. She cares about Eugene, and seems a bit confused by it. She relates him to her brother, which is the magic of his their relationship. Wednesday wants revenge against the monster that hurt Eugene. Enid's mom wants her daughter to "wolf out," meaning how that she has not experienced the
I think Galpin is a good dude, but he seems overly obsessed. At a lunch reception, he arrests Gomez for a 25-year-old murder, but he doesn't have all the information. Wednesday getting the versions of her dad and mom for the death of Garrett Gates, a former classmate, were interesting, but left questions. Wednesday confronts Galpin pointing out the coincidence that he found "evidence" just when Gomez was visiting his daughter at school, three states away (note: The Addams live in New Jersey and Nevermore is in Vermont).
I loved the Wednesday-Pugsley scene at the fishing hole. I think she loves him, but will never admit it. He loves his big sister and shows it. He trusts her and I think it's a terrific moment between the two. Wednesday and Morticia solve the crime and save Gomez. I loved the confrontation between Wednesday, Morticia and the mayor (the former sheriff). The back-and-forth between mother and daughter was awesome. They are similar, though very different. Wednesday gains a little credibility with the sheriff; maybe not a lot, but some. Galpin & Gomez make up. The mayor finds a secret and Enid stands up to her mother.. Enid is gaining strength; I think that is influenced by Wednesday. Morticia wishing her daughter to forge her own path is sweet. Wednesday reveals a secret about Weems.
A message is sent on the lawn of Nevermore's courtyard, prompting suspense, which is pretty cool!
Best episode of the season so far. Three to go (I've seen them, but final rankings don't come until the end).

Short Impression of Episode 6:
The friendship between Wednesday and Enid continues but, unlike most of us, Wednesday is not thrilled with a surprise birthday party. Why not? I'm enjoying these flashback scenes with Goody, her ancestor, especially when Goody (also played by Jenna Ortega) is warning Wednesday of what is to come. Wednesday thinks she has identified the monster, but ... has she?
There are some nice investigative scenes between Wednesday and an fun confrontation between she and Sheriff Galpin following the attack of the Mayor when he is fun over and ends up in critical condition. It was nice to call Enid best friends, but she clearly has ulterior motive, which plays out interestingly, yet not in her favor. Enid moving out of their room to stay with Yoko after being put into danger by Wednesday during the investigation Emma Myers a terrific chance to shine as she angrily dresses down Wednesday prior to leaving the room. Wednesday actually sulks for a moment which shows the impact Enid is having on her as friends.
This episode is a good buildup to the final two episodes and I really like the friendship building between Wednesday and Eugene. When she visit him in the hospital, there is something there in the way of a brotherly friendship. Xavier is complicated and Wednesday's impression of him is equally so, but I see him as a much better romantic match than Tyler. I really like Weem's commitment to the school, and Wednesday's monologue at the end is pretty chilling.
I think of this as a filler/chance to advance the story and, while it doesn't stand out from the rest of the episodes. However, this one works because it does what it was supposed to do.

Short Impression of Episode 7:
Mayor Walker did not survive his injuries from episode 6's hit-and-run. The series starts with his funeral which is attended by many Nevermore students, including Wednesday, who is being watched. She chases down the mystery person to find out that is none other than her Uncle Fester to which she greets with a huge smile. The two reconnect and we learn that he is actually on the run.
Enid and Wednesday are still at odds and the former intends to become roommates with Yoko. Wednesday is hurt, but later tells Ms. Thornhill that she is fine with being alone. Wednesday and Fester believe they have uncovered evidence which pins Xavier as the monster and Dr. Kimbott as the master. Kimbott is suspicious, but Wednesday has made some previous mistakes so ...? The Wednesday-Tyler "date" is also an ulterior motive for her, and it takes place in Cragstone's Crypt. They have a picnic and watch a movie, Legally Blonde, which horrifies her. Funny smirk at one point by her. After getting caught and let off, She returns back to her room to find Thing stabbed against the wall. She rushes him(?) to Fester to initiates direct defibrillation. She doesn't give up and, thanks to her uncle, he survives. She vows revenge and pinky swears with Thing before promising to stitch him up.
She reveals to Weems that the monster is a Hyde (created by Tim Burton himself). Weems is still trying to protect the school and Wednesday confronts Kimbott with accusations that she is Laurel Gates, the master of the Hyde. This seems to be dispelled when the Hyde murders Kimbott at her home office. Still suspecting Xavier, she confronts him in his art space. Trinkets from the Hyde's attacks appear in the room. Xavier claims he has been framed as Sheriff Galpin arrests him. Enid moves back in and they have a nice conversation where Wednesday admits that her hear is not melting, but that she is evolving. She visits Tyler at the diner and they kiss. During which, Wednesday has a vision of who the monster really is, and it's not Xavier.
Portlandia alum Fred Armisen is perfect as Fester. It's a shame he only appears in one episode. The funniest part of the whole show is when Thing gives Fester a wet willie! This plays into a lot of the rumor in the series to begin with in that it is a bit simplistic. Fester warning his niece that he wants to put Tyler into a Romanian sleeper hold is amusing given the series was filmed just outside of Bucharest, Romania's capital and largest city.
This is the biggest reveal of the season and she runs back to Nevermore. It was a fun penultimate episode and really sets up the season finale. In a sense, we know what we're dealing with, but there is a question of the monster killing the master (or did it?).

Short Impression of Episode 8:
Note, as this is the series finale, this will be a bit longer than the other impressions and much more spoilers.
Wednesday accuses Tyler of being the Hyde, but she still thinks Kimbott was the master who unlocked him. The Night Shade helps her accuse him. according to Enid's text, Thornhill is suspicious (hmm?). Wednesday begins to torture Tyler to get answers, but the Night Shade don't approve and leave, later to inform Weems. It has been revealed that Tyler's mother was a Hyde while his father was a normie. Weems contacts the sheriff, who brings her to the station. She is released, but Tyler speaks to her after as she is at the door. He tells her that she doesn't know what's coming for her. Weems expels Wednesday from Nevermore, to leave on a train tomorrow. She confesses to Xavier, in his cell, that she knows he is innocent, but he rejects her, angrily.
Wednesday and Enid sadly say goodbye, during which Enid tells her that she received a text that Eugene has emerged from his coma. Enid says goodbye to Thing. Wednesday leaves and encounters Bianca and the Night Shades. They reconcile, only to be interrupted by Thornhill with a parting gift. Weems is going to drive Wednesday to the train station, herself. She asks for one more favor; to visit Eugene in the hospital. Eugene gives her a key point of evidence which points to someone else responsible for his injury and who is the actual master of the Hyde. She confronts Thornhill, with Tyler following her. Thornhill disgusts and owns up, asking Tyler to turn into the monster. But, it's not Tyler; it's Weems who is a shapeshifter. Thornhill kills her with an injection of nitrate poisoning. She then knocks out Wednesday with a shovel, planning on using her blood to help free Joseph Cragstone.
Enid and Ajax are making out in her room and Enid's werewolf claws poke out (NOTE: It seems that her werewolf abilities are triggered by her anger or her passion; being a optimist appears to be the reason that she has yet to "wolf out"). While they are kissing, Enid gets a (facetime) message from Eugene, who tells her that Wednesday and Weems went to confront Thornhill, but that he has not heard back from them. He tells her that Thornhill is behind everything. Thing comes back to confirm this. Eugene leaves his hospital to help his "only friend."
Thornhill has tied up Wednesday and defends Cragstone's actions from 400 years ago (he wanted to rid the world of outcasts). She references Goody Addams as the one who stopped Cragstone then, and uses Wednesday to resurrect him. The sheriff heads to the woods near Nevermore. Cragstone is resurrected and stabs Wednesday, leaving her for dead before heading to Nevermore to destroy the current outcasts. This has been Thornhill's plan all along.
Ajax leads Enid to the Night Shade's secret library and she scolds him for not telling her before. Bianca, Devina and Kent join them and they come up with a plan. Enid and Thing will find Wednesday while the others will evacuate the school in hopes of saving the outcasts. Bianca, Devina and Kent will specifically use their siren song to convince them to leave in an orderly fashion.
Meanwhile ... Wednesday is dying when Goody finds her. A necklace which Morticia had worn will allow Goody to save her descendant, but they will never see each other again. Wednesday is resurrected. The sheriff, with Xavier in the back of his squad car, locked inside (for long?). The sheriff leaves to investigate the situation and the sirens try to evacuate the school. On her way to find Wednesday, Enid is running through the woods when she collapses. Finally, she "wolfs out" for the first time in her life. She is still recognizable by the pink streaks in her hair. Think witnesses this and heads off to unlock Xavier, which he does, much to Xavier's joy and happiness to see the disembodied appendage. As Enid wolfs out, she howls. Wednesday, in another part of the woods, hears it. She encounters Tyler, who turns into the Hyde. He pins Wednesday against a tree, drawing a claw to finish her, but he is tackled out of the way by Werewolf Enid, who begins to fight the monster. Wednesday recognizes her (by her hair streaks) and runs away to try and save the school. Werewolf Enid and Hyde Tyler fight.
Cragstone and Thornhill arrive at the school courtyard where students are still trying to leave. Ajax and Bianca are spotted by the resurrected madman who attempts to rein fire on them before they duck. Thing rescues Xavier, and the sheriff arrives to witness his son fighting Werewolf Enid. He shoots Tyler once, and Enid finishes off Tyler with a brutal kick. The sheriff recovers Tyler and is saddened at what he has become. Thing witnesses Enid transform back to human form and clutches her hand as it happens to support her.
Wednesday finds Cragstone in the courtyard and Xavier shows up to fire an arrow from his bow at Cragstone, but he mentally switches it to fire it back at Xavier (a weird thing for a non-outcast to be able to do). Wednesday takes the hit for Xavier and tells him to get the others out of the school. She and Cragstone battle in a sword fight. He eventually breaks her sword and subdues her, vowing to send her back to hell. He seems to confuse her with Goody. As Wednesday struggles a sword is seen coming through his chest from behind. It's Bianca, her fencing rival, who has wounded him. With the handle end of her broken sword, Wednesday stabs him in his heart, then winds the blade as to ensure his demise. She and Bianca nod to one another as allies. Thornhill arrives with a gun and with the intent to kill Wednesday since she can't kill all the outcasts. A bee appears on the gun. They both look confused as bees start to swarm Thornhill. We see Eugene (whom I call the "bee whisperer") come and tell her "That's what you get for messing with Nevermore, Bi***." Wednesday, though deadpan as always, looks at Eugene and seems to be Thankful and impressed by Eugene's actions. She tells him to turn away and stops on Thornhill's head.
Students who have escaped the school grounds are gathered outside the gates. Yoko sees a figure approaching in the distance and points to it to get Ajax's attention. He turns and runs to the figure, which turns out to be Enid in just her pink coat. He escorts her back to the group. She is covered in blood and seemingly traumatized. The group sees her and shows respect to her for taking down the monster. The group parts the way until she can see the others. Though she is traumatized, she asks, "Where is Wednesday?" while fearing the worst. After a moment, three figures emerge from the gate of Nevermore. It's Wednesday, Bianca and Eugene. Enid runs to her best friend and hugs her. At first, Wednesday does not return the hug, but then appears to understand the ability to support her friend and returns the hug to support her as a show of their friendship. Enid had tried to hug her numerous times previously as a gesture of friendship, but Wednesday would have no part of it. This time, Wednesday's return of the hug is an acknowledgement that they are best friends. It was a sweet moment.
The rest of the semester has been cancelled to due the events of what happened, and Weems' death, and the students are gathering to leave Wednesday finishes her novel. She and Enid salute their fallen principal in her office. Wednesday thanks Bianca after Enid invites her to vacation at her home in San Francisco where there will be fog and drizzle every day. Her dark best friend is intrigued by the idea. Xavier gives Wednesday a cell phone with his number already programmed into it. "That's bold," she tells him without the agreement not to send him a text. He is clearly interested in her from their past and his admiration of what she has done to save the school.
Lurch is driving Wednesday home and, on her new phone, she receives a text message from someone who vows to kill her. She has a stalker. They follow past a prison van carrying Tyler the opposite way. He begins to turn into the Hyde. Fade out ...
Will there be a season 2 ... " I know the suspense is killing you."

This is so hilarious. I adore the people's reactions! Netflix really went all out for this show and it's paid off big time. It had been the number one streamed series on Netflix all 10 days it has come out. The show has surpassed Stanger Things 4 as the most watched series in the first seven days of released. What does this mean? 99.999999999999999999999% there will be a season 2. Yes, I saw that number as I typed it and it's sooo Enid!

Wednesday was up for two Golden Globe Awards tonight, but did not win either. They were:
Best Television Actress Musical/Comedy - Jenna Ortega Best Musical or Comedy Series - Wednesday
Both awards went to Quinta Brunson of Abbott Elementary and to that show itself. I've not watched that, so I feel I can not make a judgement.
At the end of the day, nominations in both the categories is a solid feat. We'll see what happens with season two.
