Oregon's season has kicked off in Eugene against visiting Nicholls.
first drive: Oregon moves the ball down in less than a minute and a half and scores.
Ducks lead, 7-0.

i honestly think the disqualification is valid to the rule. by rule it was targeting.

I know the lineman was facing the opposite direction but he did not even have to hold the defensive lineman. The quarterback would have scored anyway.

i honestly think the disqualification is valid to the rule. by rule it was targeting. any thoughts? Yeah, under the current rules, that's a dirty play that has no business in the game. Disqualification was absolutely justified. Mitchell is very talented, but he does have a history of not being the most cerebral player on the defense.

Another consequence of that "targeting" call is that with these smaller schools who have nothing to lose, you really open up your own QB to reprisal. I've seen small schools head-hunt before. Mitchell really needs to be smarter going forward this season.

You definitely have to be smarter on a play like that. I also agree with Mike Perierra that the disqualification rule likely will be called inconsistently.
