ANGI'S TAKES
THUNDER: Portland is sliding out of the playoff race after having lost their last five games and eight of their last nine. The quarterback carousel has once again spun around and Rowley should get the start here after replacing the ineffective Carder last week. Rowley has been on and off this season, but still is thrown for 2,217 yards and 41 touchdowns. The problem is, he also has thrown 16 interceptions. He will look to get back on track in this game. Perry is the hot receiver as of late, having caught 21 passes for 320 yards and 9 touchdowns over the past two games and even threw for a score in last week's loss to the Shock. The Thunder defense has gone three games without an interception and have just six picks on the season.
OUTLAWS: Las Vegas is positioning itself for a playoff spot and would be the third seed in the National Conference if the playoffs started now. They're led by head coach Aaron Garcia, who is in his first year at the helm of an AFL team after having enjoyed a 19-year playing career in arena football. The Outlaws are without their top two quarterbacks, J.J. Raterink and Sean Brackett, so they will likely turn to rookie Havilla, who has thrown for 47 yards in one appearance this season. Wilson is the play maker and always a threat to make a big play. Poots is a solid second option at receiver. Varner is averaging nearly 6 tackles per game. Young has returned 5 kickoffs and 2 missed field goal attempts for touchdowns this season.
QUOTABLE
Thunder head coach Mike Hohensee
“They’ve had a great attitude this week. There’s not a panic. There’s still a disappointment. We’re still pissed off that we’re not winning football games. But these guys are still working hard. Most 3-9 teams don’t have guys staying after (practice) to work out and work on things extra (the way we do). They (other 3-9 teams) get in the car as fast as they can (after practice).”

EXTRA
On behalf of this site, which send our prayers and well wishes to Thunder head coach Mike Hohensee, on his mother's passing. Donna Harris had been battling heart disease for two years and past away on June 12. The Portland Tribune published this article on the coach this week: Life goes on for Thunder coach Mike Hohensee.
